Well, I started with Rungo, but it was all over the place, told me I had run 3K before I got to the end of the road, so stopped and loaded my NRC coach, the lovely Mr Bennett. The first street I ran up had proper English garden flowers in their front gardens, just lovely... ... on to the guided busway, nice paving but a bit soulless and no shade anywhere...a long ole slog, then out by the river...feeling a bit better now, this is my locale...as I went up onto the ramp to cross the bridge, a frog jumped out of the undergrowth and grabbed my ankle...that's a first...stopped for a few seconds to see the new cygnets.... more slog... getting slower and slower, at one point I was actually passed by someone walking. Very hard going, but I did it, I ran all of it.....now, off to get my medal!

Glad you got to run with Coach Bennett today Curlygurly2 , he is good company on a run. It was warm in parts so well done for keeping going and completing that 10k , despite the efforts of that frog to slow you down.
Congratulations on completing the HU 10K, that's a first, a frog slowing you down, I am sure if it hadn't been for that frog you would have completed your run sub 90 minutes, anyway you did very well indeed, well done π ππΎ you deserve that π₯ medal π
Ha ha, thank you! I was trying to help the froggy off the path, the runner who came behind me was trying to stamp on him....what a sh*tbag...anyway, I think the froggy was amorous!
Thank you MW, these swans were nesting right next to the path where people walk, run and cycle...they are not really bothered, provided you don't get too close...Cambridge wildlife exists cheek to jowl! (that includes the tourists!)
Aww bless! We have all sorts here, as I think you know...there's a huge herd of cows on one of my routes, maybe 25... usually we don't see more than a dozen...
The cows are on practically every green space in Cambridge, it's a Royal charter. I love them! Such a funn y thing to see in the centre of town, they are even on the lawn at King's College!
Part of the course which I do my regular runs is around a loch, recently two grown-up ducks and six little ducklings have come out of the water and sat on the grass at the edge of the path people walk, run and cycle, if they are there on Wednesday morning when I run the HU 10K I will stop and take a photo of that duck family of 8.
But I can't imagine that frog! π Thatβs really weird and funny at the same time. I nearly stepped on one in the garden the other day but thank goodness he didn't grab my ankle! Normally they are so frightened of us they run away and hide.
Over the past few weeks the trail I run most often has been liberally populated by mating toads! They gradually make their way, two by two, across the trail into the pond. Molly, our Old English totally ignores them; I suspect that they wouldnβt make a tasty meal. Some species are poisonous? Thankfully the season seems to be over now!
I'm sure the warm day made the run more of a slog, but good on you for carrying on to the end; not easy once you feel like that. Congratulations.
I wonder what on earth happened with RunGo - it should use the exact same GPS signal on your phone that the NRC app does. I've never heard of that happening before. Coach Bennett is more than capable of stepping in though, and generally very reliable too π
I'm not particularly bothered by the heat, I ran in the South of France, and indeed did C25K there. It was often above 35C, but of course we deal with the humidity here. My struggling is more caused by my health conditions.... and my advanced age lol!
Rungo failing was probably me pressing the wrong button or something. I'll have another go at it on another day. Yes indeed, CB is very capable, I love him to bits, but that's mostly what caused the difference in my moving time and elapsed time. Oh, and on CBs reliability? He doesn't like the rain, the big wuss, always deserts me when it's raining!
