Hiya,
Went out this morning for a 12K, which is in my plan to reach 10 miles, of which the first 10K would be for the HU 10K.
Dark and cloudy weather, but luckily no rain. Started the RunGo app with the 10K virtual route on and set of.
The first few kilometers were ok, but I did not feel 'into the zone' and around 5K I was already struggling. Did have to laugh a few times with the RunGo comments though. But the run felt heavy.
This is strange for me, because normally a run in the morning feels easy and 10K is my favorite distance. Nevertheless I was struggling. At 6K I almost despaired, knowing I was only half way. But I kept going.
At 8K I had a short moment of energy, but it did not last. 10K came and went, the RunGo commentary ended. In the meanwhile my hands were starting to get stiff, though it was not THAT cold. I wonder if it has anything to do with my arthritis. My past 2 IV's were only half the doses as they need my meds for corona patients. After my run I could hardly use my hands anymore, they were very stiff. Shoelaces are a hell...
Pure on character I succeeded in getting to 12K, but it was HARD. Maybe I did not drink enough yesterday, I also lacked sleep this night due to cats who did not want to sleep anymore. Whatever the reason I do hope my planned 14K next weekend will go a bit easier.
For the HU 10K, I clocked my 10K at 1:23:57. And I saw 2 gorgeous pheasants in our little park (see unclear pic). Next to Canadian geese, Nile geese and ducks, it appears we now have 2 male pheasants too.
Cheers, Evy
