It’s been quite the week! Son (19) had issues getting home from his Gap Year travels so had a rather tense 36 hours of trying not to let my nervous energy get the better of me. On the same day, daughter had her first A Level.
So mentally not ideal preparation for an event! The run felt a long way off on Weds/Thursday of this week
That said, once he was home I had the best two nights sleep I have had in a long time so was ready for the challenge this morning.
Gorgeous day, warm with a nice breeze.
My aim of 58 minutes was a touch ambitious but happy with two seconds under 59.
Two min slower than last year.
Four minutes slower than three years ago.
How on earth was I ever able to run 10k in 55 minutes?!?
Still, I’m 55 in a few months so I’ll happily take an official time of 58:58.
Hope everyone has had a good run today/this week. Thanks to our super team for making the magic happen
Off to order my bling! 🥰🏅🤩

Congratulations to you Joster on completing the HU 10K in under one hour, that time is a dream to many including myself, I hope to run it on Wednesday morning, it will be my 50th 10K, now go and celebrate your wonderful achievement with 🍷 and 🎂 cake.
Well done on the run. It’s best not to worry about the times. I find myself comparing with previous PBs and just getting downhearted. The important thing is that you are still out there doing it.
Son home safely, good sleep and a speedy 10k. 3/3 Win, win, win, I do hope that your daughter felt alright about her first A level. Challenging time. Congratulations to you!
