On Sunday I ran the Utilita Bowl 10k. The race HQ and start point was in the Hampshire Cricket ground, the Utilita Bowl. I had run 10k races on the 3 preceding Sundays so why not one more - especially as it was so close to home!
The weather was just about perfect and the start of the race goes around part of the perimeter of the ground and then out onto a road then countryside. The route took us near to an animal rescue centre and lots of beautiful fields, in a bit of loop before heading back to cricket ground. There were a few hilly bits and the entry road back into the ground was a really quite steep. Once inside the ground we ran on the grass all around the pitch to the finish line (we were kept away from the middle bit where all the action happens ๐คฃ).
I crossed the line in a time of 1:02:23 and was given water, a banana, a lovely medal, and my favourite t-shirt so far.
No more races until the Great South Run in a couple of weeks. Really canโt wait for that one with a big VRB meet up ๐.

With hilly bits and multiple surfaces, that was a seriously good time Mudita11. Just hang on to that perfect weather for us for a couple of weeks or so ๐๐. Hampshire sounds to be a lovely place to live and run.
Thanks IP, great colour arenโt they?! The same design is on a massive billboard at the entrance to the cricket ground. It can be seen from outer space I think ๐คฃ x
That's a great time for a course like that, congratulations!!! Far from wearing you out, your epic racing month seems to have made you stronger and stronger. Imagine what fresh legs are going to achieve at the GSR? Rest well and have a wonderful meet up. I'm sad to miss it this year but will be thinking of you all ๐ฅฐ
Thanks Linda. Sad that we wonโt see you at the GSR this time. Next year hopefully ๐ค๐ผ. My legs do need a rest but I plan to squeeze in one long run this week then Iโll rest my legs and overdose on carbs for the few days leading up to the GSR x
I thought we were missing a run report! An excellent time and a lovely T-shirt and bling too Mudita11 .
It will always be the Rose Bowl to me; canโt be doing with all these sponsors changing the name. ๐. I do enjoy a quiet day watching a test match each year.
Woohoo racer girl Mudita11 ! Really well done, it sounds like a fun one. How will you manage for the next couple of weekends before the GSR? Withdrawal symptoms? ๐
Racer girl ๐คฃ๐คฃ. I wish ๐คฃ. Donโt know how Iโll cope Cheeky but am currently in London to do a parkrun Iโve not done before so that will keep me quiet for a few days. Need to do a long run this coming week as Iโve not done more than 10k for a while. See you on the 20th x
