I’ve come to the conclusion that I badly need some cross training in my FM prep.
Never been a keen cyclist, however wondering if it’s worthwhile getting an indoor bike (thinking used Wattbike) and using zwift or one of the other virtual apps.
Anyone got any thoughts or suggestions? It’s all a bit confusing 😛

Getting an indoor Bike as a way to keep up my fitness when unable to run, has been a revelation and has revolutionised my running and fitness generally.
I bought one from FB Marketplace for £70 - a very simple one - unconnected, no Zwift etc... But most importantly had variable resistance.
We bought an indoor bike in lockdown (Spirit CU800) when we couldn't get to the gym and it’s still here! I use it when I can’t run and one of my goals for 2024 is to use it for cross training. TBH I’ve avoided it a little in the past for cross training because I read that it can aggrevate ITB which I’ve suffered from but I’m now thinking that it’s worth trying regularly as the benefits far outweigh the slight risk.
There are loads of online articles about the benefits of cycling for runners and it consistently comes up as one of the best cross training we can do. The movement strengthens the muscles around the knees as well as improving overall fitness and stamina.
Good luck with your training and let us know how you’re getting on 🍀
