Hi! I hope you’re having a lovely weekend and hopefully getting some great running in!
I’m now getting into the stride of NRC’s marathon training. That and listening to Vassos on Audible are my go to help. I’ve only just been able to actually verbalise the fact I’m training for a marathon because it didn’t seem real.
Yesterday, I bought some of those shorts with leggings inside. They gave me nightmares. I woke up in a cold sweat imagining I was trying to pull them over my thighs! Anyway. Tried them this morning and they were comfortable and cool. I go running early. And, I run in the town where I teach. And there they were. Three year 10s sitting on a bench at 6 a.m. as their ancient teacher ran past in shorts. “Alright, miss?”
A thumbs up reply from me. 🤦🏼♀️
There you go. Seven miles and facing your nightmares. Whether that’s me or the teens. Well…

Lol I’m pleased the shorts are comfy! I wonder who was more surprised - you or your year tens first thing 🤣. Well done on your run and your Marathon plan (gulp). 😊😊😊
I love those shorts , bought a pair for me and then a pair for Willow because it never occurred to him that his might have a phone pocket, have yours got pockets? Year 10’s eh? 😊😊aww, bet they are proud of you.
My daughter and grands passed me on a 10k once in the car, they begged her not to toot and wave in case it broke my stride, think i’d have begged for a lift home
Owing to a map-reading failure my husband, dog and I accidentally walked about 35km in the Pyrenees, with a chunk of elevation (conservative guess of 1200m) a few years ago, before I started C25K. Took us about 13 hours and we got back to our motorhome at 2.00am.
I figured that if I could do that with no training, while mentally trying to plan for what I'd do if either husband or dog collapsed, completing a trail marathon after training properly for it was definitely realistic!
