Good morning runners! I hope your weekend has been a good one ππ»
Today was last run of 7 weeks to go on NRC HM plan, the 10k long run (obvs ran on to 16km).
Decided I wanted to split it into 3 5km runs and wanted to keep those three runs to be more or less exactly the same time wise. Under 6mins/km.
Set off steadily and tried not to think of just how far I had to go π€£ first 5k went quickly and uneventfully and as planned under 30mins, the creeping thought kept sneaking in though.."you have to do that twice more"
Second 5k went well however, it was tough but I knew doing 10k in under an hour wasn't going to be an issue, done it many times and sure enough completed the 10k in 57.44, my 3rd fastest 10k ever π.
I was tiring by this stage, took a drink of water (yay I remembered water for the first time!), Knowing I still had 6km to go was weighing heavily at this stage but decided to focus on my breathing and keeping pace and hitting that 3rd and final 5km in the time I wanted.
It was at this stage Coach Bennett decided to throw in some Fartlek π€£π€£, thanks Coach! Surprisingly I managed to do what he asked and pick up the pace as required, I was pleased with myself but glad when it was over π€£ settled back to pace and was very pleased to complete the 15k in a new PB of 1:27:15 ππ turns out I could do it π
The last km was tough and I really had to force myself to finish, a lot of it up a slight slope which felt massive! π€£
Final time 1:33:49 π
Thanks for reading and enjoy the rest of your day ππ»
