Went out for one last short and easy training run this morning just to keep my legs ticking over! I haven't run since Sunday because I've been having a few niggles (stomach and legs!) but I did want to go out for at least one more run before the race and decide whether to run in my new trainers I got about a week ago. My ankle niggle has gone and my knee isn't as bad as it was! Stomach has settled down a bit too!
I have decided that I am going to run in my old shoes and just accept the fact that I will get blisters somewhere down the line, I just have to tape up well that's all beforehand (that's how I got through my 10 mile run the other week anyway...). I've only run in my new shoes twice and even though they have more room for my toes, there's still a few things I need to work out and experiment with and it's too close to race day to confidently know I will be fine in them for running a half marathon! I'm so close now!

I think that's a good choice at this point. It's possible the last minute knee and ankle issues were caused by the new shoes. The atmosphere will carry you a long way on the back of all your training and determination. The hard work is done, now you just have to enjoy 😀
Yes I agree that my niggles especially my ankle was caused by the new shoes, so it's not a good idea to run in them for a race when I can't figure that out for sure in time. Can't wait for it to be Sunday! 😃
