I had to take a week out with a knee and groin issue. My groin is not 100% recovered and I may still need to take further time out. Running after dinner never suits me and I felt awful. As well as all of my joints beginning to complain I have a hiatus hernia which when triggered can feel like a heart pain. I’ve had my heart tested so many times and I know it’s not that but I felt quite uncomfortable running. Nevertheless, I completed the 15 minute recovery run and I’m back in the game…

Well done. It's disconcerting running at a time you don't like... Puts me right off the run! Are you doing the increases every third run for your hhm? I should have run this morning but woke with a headache and now it's too hot!

Yes, I follow the NRC plan and haven’t missed any runs, which is why I took the last week off. I’m going to do a half hour run today and test my groin.

I used to run after dinner and it gave me trouble. Could you eat an easy- to-digest pre-run snack then eat your meal afterwards. I like peanut butter on white toast

I hope your aches have gone now and you can run on. Good luck

PS I ate pork steak this week and it's nearly killed me with indigestion. I don't eat much meat at all these days and I remember why now It kept me awake and I had to get up and take some painkillers!

I usually run on an empty stomach in the mornings. Rare that I run at night anyway. Going to test my groin again today. After a week off my knee feels a lot better but the groin is still problematic. Will see how I go today on the 30min recovery run.

That resonates.. I did the same a few weeks ago, so rarely have steak it was meant to be a treat.....Won't make that mistake tge day before a run again...

I hardly ever eat steak these days. I like it but I don’t want a slab of it 🙂
