HHM Training - Week 4 Day 5

So yesterday I did this tempo run, which coach Emily Infeld said to run somewhere between your 10Km and HM pace. This I duly did and it felt comfortable enough.

I was due to run 10K today but I was feeling very achy so decided to play football instead and spend most of the time in goal, especially as I have a slight groin strain. I know playing football is not a good thing to do for a groin strain but I managed to get through the game without aggravating it. I have only one more week of football before we take a summer break through August and it’s just as well because I’ll always be tempted to play on Sundays. After next week I can concentrate solely on running. I didn’t feel much cardiovascular fitness today. When I did take a brief sojourn out of goal I got out of breath quite quickly. It’s probably just the cumulative effect of doing lots of training and I have to accept that I’m 58 with a lung condition and am still carrying weight. All in all I have to be pleased with my progress. I will take a day off tomorrow and run the 10K on Tuesday, unless I feel able to do so tomorrow.

Enjoy that day off - I bet it will do you more good than a 10k tomorrow!!!

Yes, I think you’re right. I’m falling asleep all over the place coz I’m exercising so much.

Football is good cross training and fun 😃⚽️

I hope you can get some good sleep 👍🛌

My 10km run today didn’t show up against the training plan so no tick ☹️😁. I’m not doing it again this time 😁

Yes I love football. Oh no!! Well you know that you did it. I have some runs from week 1 which didn’t either. So annoying but I’ve let them go.

I agree to let it go It’s hard though 😁.

I ran the intervals with Cory today - the 1 and 2minute ones. Tough in the heat. Good though🏃‍♀️

Well done!! I’ve largely stayed out of the heat and gone back to the gym. I may be in for a shock when I go back out but I did run 8K outside recently.

I only ever run outside. You get the benefit from running on undulations, stop/starts etc. It’s good for our feet and ankles, plus you get the benefit of free vitamins from the sun 🌞😃. Lots to see out there which helps the run pass much quicker

Hi Dodgy 👋

Is the app still working for you?

I can’t get the coached runs to download. It just seems to download the graphic for the run but without the link to it. 🙄

Yea mine is still working. I’ve been taking time out to allow my knee and groin injuries to recover but will be back at it tomorrow so will let you know if I have any issues. You could try reinstalling the app.
