A cheeky little 15 minute recovery run to start my second week of training. I’m doing 20 minutes of interval training tomorrow which will be speed running. Then on Saturday morning I’ll be doing a 35 minute recovery run before the big one on Monday: a 4 mile run (6.4K). Sunday will be a rest day in which my massage gun will be used liberally all over my aching limbs. Hopefully England will oblige me with a win against Croatia to ease my tension.
Today was only 15 minutes on the treadmill at a modest pace but it still felt hard work, just easier than the long runs will be. I have serious doubts about whether I will be able to run 21K by the end of September but I’m going to give it my absolute best shot.

You have loads of time and you are ticking off the runs so there’s no reason you won’t be ready. Every mile counts and adds to your running bank so keep the faith, you’re doing so well 👍🙂
Thank you. It’s just I have exercise induced asthma and I’ve realised I’m wore wheezy the days after runs but when I’m running I’m largely alright. Also, my legs are aching a fair bit but I seem to be dealing with it (with my trusty massage gun).
Yes that’s very good advice. I’m doing the NRC programme which features 5 runs per week so I may need to adapt that to my older limbs. At the moment it’s all ok and I can only run slow so no chance of me running too hard as we speak. I think the weight is slowly coming off so I’m doing all the right things in these early stages.
