Indoors: 30 minute recovery run.

Well I ran at a very slow pace as per the NRC coach’s instructions. It felt easy and I’m confident that this training is preparing me to run the long distances. A slightly worrying issue was that my left leg seemed to go a bit numb during the run. I had a tube bandage around my troublesome knee and the hernia I have on my left leg. The hernia is a tiny little thing which I’ve had on my leg for thirty years and really should’ve got sorted many years ago. Wearing the bandage means I never notice it. But I’m wondering whether having that bandage around the leg has somehow inhibited blood flow. Anyway, the leg is fine now but I’ll keep an eye on it. I’ve never noticed that before. In thirty minutes I ran around 4K which is not bad and I’m interested to see how my 8K run goes tomorrow. It will be my first outdoor run in a few months. I’ve trained much more smartly this time around as NRC app has been mixing the sessions up and I feel stronger than before. However, I am still carrying way too much weight and I need to shift it before I can start stepping the pace up with comfort. Or for that matter get out of bed with comfort. At least tying my shoe laces doesn’t get me out of breath anymore and I can negotiate my way around my belly. I’m only half joking! Onwards and upwards!!

Well done on your run today. And enjoy the 8k tomorrow!

When I had slight numbness or a feeling of my leg not being "there" lol, it was actually coming from my lower back and hips. I had a session with the chiropractor and the treatment made a significant difference.

It might be your bandage on the knee of course but if you have had issues with your back or hips in the past, that may be the cause.

See how it goes on the outside run tomorrow. Think that will give you a better idea about it. Good luck xx
