My Surrey family’s mid term break to North Wales turns into a 10 day lockdown.Mum and two grandchildren test Covid +ve. The other four of our bubble including the two oldies test -ve.
Roll on -ve tests and lockdown end.Next is my wife’s hip replacement 15th June.💪🙏
I have a self inflicted head cold through not stripping off after my snail paced long time runs.
So my programme well and truly stuffed at present. There is a Scottish boyhood saying, “ the ball is well and truly in the slates “.When someone balloons the football into the roof tops and off the street playing surface.Game over until later.lol.
I am going to recommence with chunking 5km x 3 times per day at 0600/1200/1800.
Hopefully two runs per week and just adding 1km to each run.So 6/7/8/9/10/11/12/13/14 Marathon, then 3x16.66km Ultra.
At 78 the Victor Meldrew stuff creeps in.Tbh in some circumstances it is really Lions lead by Donkeys. Not on here.
I wish roseabi and her team a very successful recruitment drive. This Forum rules.
Stay safe everyone.

🤞🏻 for your cold and the neg tests. Hopefully everyone OK in spite of post tests 🤞🏻
I'm still confident you can do it.
I'm watching a film on YouTube Unbreakable, and in it is mentioned Glenn Frick, part of a running group who call themselves The Geezers. Here is an article which mentions him.
Sorry about the Covid things in your family, I just hope it is the very mild version, you are now doing 3/5K's a day at 6 am, 12 noon and 6 pm is very brave of you, wow, well done, good luck with your marathon and ultra training, I hope you are getting help regarding that historic hedge.
Thanks Al.Yes hedge man scheduled in.Intended a one week reset for half term holiday.Probably be a two week reset before starting back with the chunking programme.I will see how it goes and pleased to have banked one continuous 18km.Some of this stuff is a worry Al.,complete classes of school children testing positive and parents with two vaccinations testing positive also.
I have had my two vaccinations, the first was on the 13th of February (I ran a 5K on the 12th) and I had my second jag on the 26th of April. I ran a 9K on the 28th of April without any after-effects whatsoever.
Even if someone has had two they could still test positive but it should only be a mild version and not need to go to a hospital, of course, you don't want it at all, I just hope you don't get even the mild version, I assume you have had both vaccinations.
Yes Al,both of us Feb & April.Daughter is a community palliative care matron and has had both and tested positive.Been in Lockdown like many others for over a year and who or what is going to stop this third wave. Can do better.🌟👏👏💪🙏
Best wishes to you and all your family Tbae - and hoping this doesn’t impact on running plans too much! Hope that despite the positive tests everyone recovers soon. Take care.🙂
So sorry to hear this... I hope those negative tests come, and that you aren’t all stuck inside for too long. Good luck to your wife for her hip replacement! ❤️
I hope you are managing to enjoy yourselves as a family - there is loads of stuff online that you can have fun with - music quizzes, pub quizzes, loads of stuff on youtube
I hope you can make it into a real bonding experience!
Wishing you good covid vibes for those who've tested positive and continued negative tests for those that haven't
All the best to you and your family. Hope things go well with your wife’s hip and hope everyone recovers soon. If you are looking for something running related to watch online, I have a growing library of you tube vids here: youtube.com/playlist?list=P...
Thank you BBR for your very kind thoughts.I hope all is well with you and yours. This ageing stuff has to be accepted as it stealthily creeps up on you.I can still hear Laura on one side and that is a huge bonus when I get going again.Deaf and blind on one side.I am pleased I have listened to her so frequently that her 1234,1234 and the slow bpm’s are hard wired now.So who needs hearing.lol.Stay safe and hope you and yours all good.🏃♀️🌟👏👏❤️💪🙏💫⚡️
