That's an interesting approach! Towards, the end of April, have you considered doing 17k on consecutive days as a way of building up to the double? You could consider something similar before the triple. All the best.
Thanks SkiMonday.I will try that again.I did try perhaps a couple of years ago one month of continuous running and one month of continuous running with two runs per day.Cannot remember well now SM but suffice to say I ended up with a self inflicted overuse injury and since then I became a bigger user of one or more repair days.Funny how I think of two runs or more in the same day as one day exertion.π
I admire those that have adaptive and are safely able to run on continuous days.I decided to park it in favour of at least crunching my first in a lifetime marathon and 50kUltra.
I'm a firm believer in taking recovery days every week; I think that running on continuous days for a month is asking for trouble (looks like you found that out the hard way!)
My idea was, instead of doing 2x17k on the same day, split them across two days first as a way of easing into it. So, instead of doing both on (say) Friday, you could do one on Thursday, the other on Friday then take Saturday off.
