MAIDENHEAD HALF MARATHON CHALLENGE FOR HEARTS & SOULS: APPEAL

I had planned to run this year’s Maidenhead half marathon in aid of Hearts & Souls (local charity supporting cardiac rehab in South Bucks), my first half marathon since the 1993 Wycombe half marathon and by far my longest distance post heart attack in Dec 2016.

As with so many charitable opportunities this has been cancelled due to COVID-19 but I have remained determined to help the charity support recent local cardiac patients through these difficult and trying times so will be running the course on Sept 27th 2020.

To read more about my challenge, and to make a donation if you would like to, please read the following link ....

Lovely photo. I always seem to struggle with running and smiling at the same time 🙄

Good luck and well done in advance. Now that you’ve announced it here, we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way (virtually of course 🙂)

That was taken on my last 'Hearts & Souls' charity run, the Ridge Off Roader 10K last May 2019. The final stretch of that run covers the same ground as where I had my heart attack so it was very emotional for me ..... but I always look in pain anyway!!

Brilliant! I've looked at the Maidenhead one myself as it's pretty local for me. One day! Do post a race report when you're done, and we'll be cheering you on your way. Good luck!

I choose Maidenhead for two reasons –

1) It's flat!

2) The date coincided with landmark date in my recovery programme, more about that here … healthunlocked.com/bhf/post...
