We have …….a new shiny 20 Mile Badge!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Inspired by CosmicBuffalo ’s 20 mile run, linda9389 came up with the idea of a new 20 mile badge! This will bridge the gap between Metric Marathon and Full Marathon. It took Irishprincess and I all of a millisecond to agree, and just a bit longer than that for Linda to work her magic on the IT.

So CosmicBuffalo now has the first 20 mile badge ever awarded, and we would like any runners who have completed a 20 mile plus run (but short of a full marathon) to let us know and we can have the pleasure of upgrading their current badge.

For the future, anyone who completes 20 miles, but hasn’t yet reached marathon distance, will be able to claim the 20 mile badge via the link on our regular posts( that said, we tend to notice these achievements anyway; we love to see people succeed in their aims!).

Right; back to training for our HU April runs everyone ….or whatever else floats your boat 👍

What a lovely idea Beachcomber66 . It’s a badge which I almost certainly won’t be getting (unless I fly with the pigs and get a LM ballot place one day), but it’ll be nice to see it shining away on other people’s profiles. 😍

20 miles... what's that? Aha! 32.2km. So 6km on top of a Metric Marathon, which is 5km more than a Half Marathon...

I know it sounds daft but I drive in miles but I run in kilometres.

Me too, although the Nike Run Club programme dodges about between the two once you get into the longer distances. My watch is set to KMs because all of the related features; pace and distance, are expressed in terms which mean something to me.

My Garmin buzzes in miles but records my runs in kms. I have no idea how to change it so just go with the flow. Whatever, I won’t be chasing a 20 mile badge

I can play the age card….”don’t want to do it” works just as well though. I was tempted into trying 10 miles by Roseabi; glad she took the trouble though. UTS and Cheeky were the HM pioneers I think; I just tagged along. I have agreed to have a go at a MM in April just to keep Linda and Cheeky company…..easily influenced 🙂

😂😂 Being tempted to a HM then deciding to do a 2nd one just to prove I could was enough for me. I’m now just going for social or novelty value so Monsal (mega VRB met up), Cannock Chase Trail (because I’ve never done a trail race) and the Gin Run 10k (just to prove I run better with gin 🤪)

I seem to remember your HM being under 2h:30 min. I think that I just like to push my limited boundaries a bit on the basis that “same old same old” would be boring and dropping anything at this stage is likely to be permanent! 🙂
