Last Sunday was the day I was going to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon. There was going to be over 14,000 runners, 1000's of supporters, and entertainment along the way. It was going to be flat and a beautiful day.
Instead, I did a Local Landmarks half marathon. There was 1 runner (me), 1 supporter (for some of the way), hills, it was cold and there was a strong wind but I did it, I ran my virtual half marathon in a respectable time of under 2h 08m. I still might never have run a race but I have now run a half marathon.
I have come a long way from starting C25K and being beaten by an 80 year old in my first parkrun last February.
Just hope that the real LLHM can be rescheduled for the Autumn.

Congratulations. 🎉👏🏼🎉🎶🎵🎶🎉 Actually you have loads of supporters. Just hard to hear those virtual cheers and at that speed, I bet the pom-poms whizzed by! Splendid time especially with the cold winds we’ve all been having. That’s a huge achievement in only just over a year. ⭐️🎉⭐️
Just fabulous - that's amazing progress! I really hope they can reschedule too so I can get to volunteer as planned - ideally not 11th Oct or 31st Oct (Oxford HM and RTN London - both rescheduled dates for me) 😀.
