Newbie half marathon

Hi guys, I’ve completed C25K and Ju-Ju’s 10k plan, had a 3 month injury break and I’m now back on the road. Is there a half marathon training plan you can recommend? I’ve signed up for the London Landmarks Half on 29/3/20 and need advice. Thanks in advance 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Hi! Welcome to the forum!!! I hope you find fun and inspiration here 😊😊😊

We are currently running an Autumn half marathon group (OHMG) here, and even though your race isn't until March next year, you may enjoy joining in with the group - they share their training experiences as they go, and it's insightful stuff! The latest post is here:

...and you can cycle back through all the posts via the link near the bottom of each one.

Further, I have written a simple, gentle half marathon plan, which a few have tried (myself included) and liked - and one of my early OHMG posts goes through a selection of free online plans to give an idea of what's out there:

Sorry, it's a lot to take in! I should add that a basic plan to conquer your first half marathon will work on the same principle as Ju-Ju's plan: two or three runs a week, including a long run that gradually and gently increases over the span of the plan. You can choose whether or not to run the full distance in training, or save it for the big event! Many people run a half marathon after only going up to 16 km in training, it's fine. Your aim for your first HM should be to enjoy your training runs, finish the race, and have fun!

There's a few others doing LLHM next year too. I did it this year for my first half - good choice 🙂

Ohhh LLHM. I'm there too next year🤪

Posts above have loads of info, I'm a total plan fiend. If your struggling drop me a PM closer to the race. You'll only need a 12 weeker if your running regular.

Welcome back from injury! That's a long time out 🤕
