End of year half marathon

I am delighted as I completed a half marathon on Thursday. Very low key run with my friend and running buddy Kirsten. We hadnt done many long runs but do run twice a week doing between 7.0 and 12 km each time. I have been wanting to do a Half for the last 4 to 6 weeks as my last one was in June this year, so we decided to go for it on Thursday, just the two of us

It was a nice morning, a little warm, not too much but we had a head wind from 9km to 15 km and it was pretty strong. Nevertheless, we ran strongly overall and I enjoyed it very much.

The photo was taken by my husband who was our water boy! He met us at 10km and 15 km with water and then at the end to join us for coffee. I am on the left.

I felt great the next day and met with the running group for an 8km recovery run on Saturday. I really felt my legs (thighs) doing that but was ok afterwards. But I literally havent stopped eating since. Must try and rein it in from tomorrow.

I have a place in the London Landmarks HM next May - I do hope it goes ahead as havent done any organised events since January this year and need something to look forward to.

Congratulations on completing another Half Marathon with your friend, well done, I hope both of you enjoyed your run.

Good luck for next year's May London Landmarks Half Marathon, it certainly will go ahead but probably will be virtual, that means you can run it a place of your own choice.

Thank you. Am looking forward to the trip to London so do hope it goes ahead in a socially distanced way if that is possible 😀

Happy, smiley faces - great pic! Sounds like hard work with that wind so very well done! I hope LLHM goes ahead this year, let's all keep our fingers firmly crossed. Virtual races have really lost their novelty value haven't they!
