I know there's lots of us doing this one - nearly time, exciting! - and JaoJao and I wondered if anyone fancies trying to meet up briefly before the start? Wave times vary, it will be busy and some of you will already be with family or friends, but it may not be impossible (I've seen photographic evidence that other running groups have achieved it 😍).
Your start time is going to be between 9.30 and 10.50, with the full start list available here: londonwinterrun.co.uk/wp-co...
I was thinking maybe around 8.45 (although it might need to be a bit later than that depending on people's travel)? Not 100% sure where yet (somewhere fairly close, though the foot of Nelson's column is probably not the best idea) as I don't really know London, but thought I'd see if there was any interest first.

Was going to contact you anyway. It depends when we get there from Oxford. My start time is 10.34 but I might drop back to Kate’s, which is 10.50 I think, because I’m still unfit. I will text or ring when we get there and see where we’re at.
I have a 10.10 start time but could drop my bag and everything before meeting up - so long as I can find something warm to wear - or I might just leave it in the car 😀
I will phone (if that’s ok - texting means keeping glasses with me which I don’t want to do, as nowhere to stow them when running ). If you don’t respond I will leave voicemail, then you can contact me if you’re not in your start pen
8.45am should be do-able and will look forward to soaking up race vibes! Apparently there is a Nuffield Health warm up exercise area which sounds pretty good. Is a little WhatsApp group a good idea? If not before, then after might work? I am wave 11, starting at 10:50 but I want to sneak in a bit before that (I know that’s naughty!) but probably levelled out by what FlickM3 is doing 😊😊😊
Ah, how many HUers are doing the LWR? I counted around 10 on an earlier thread.
I signed myself and 3 family members up last year but I have hardly run since. For some reason we are all in wave 3 starting at 9.36 😳. Only my brother is worthy of that. I’ll be walking most of it I think and I’m not even sure I’ll finish but I want to go for the atmosphere and being with family and friends. It would be good to meet up with HU friends too but I’m afraid my start time might and getting the others together might prohibit it.
I hope you manage to really enjoy it, regardless of how you have to pace it. At the moment I'm thinking we might meet in front of the Canadian Embassy as suggested by O505k , literally just across the road from Trafalgar square. I'll probably drop my bag beforehand, so then it should only be a short, quick walk to the start. I haven't done the event before, but from reviews I've read it sounds as though 'busy' happens later and that it is relatively quiet for the early waves. It would be great to say a quick hello if it does work out.
Hi, I'm in wave 7 with a start time of 10:18, but I'll most likely be there much earlier than that. I'm happy to drop back to fit in with anyone else. I've got Hidden as one of my contacts on Messenger, but I'm not sure whether I've got anyone else on there 😀. If it's OK I'll contact Flick on the day and see what's happening?
Sounds good! Current feeling is to meet outside the Canadian Embassy around 9ish I think (maybe a bit before, maybe a bit after depending on start times - although as you say they aren't exactly fixed in stone). Hopefully see you there!
Thanks linda9389 I'm only in south London so it's a relatively easy journey up for me, provided the trains and tubes are behaving themselves. Hopefully I'll see you outside the Canadian Embassy!
I'm going to drive in - I know that's not good, but I'm too claustrophobic for the tunnel into Marylebone, let alone the tubes - so I will be getting there early to be sure 👍🤞
