Well another month has passed and we have been faced with at least 3 seasons. All a challenge to work how and when to get the running done, I have again been lucky to have time off so that I can run when the weather is most suitable. My progress has been steady and although I still haven't worked out the NRC logic the plan seems to have stabilised so not swinging too widely from week to week.
WK5 - a 6.5K Recovery run, intervals and then my first run longer than 10k @ 10.5k. I was really please that I managed to slow down my pace for the long run.
WK6 - a light week for Ks. A benchmark run which I now incorporate into a gentle 5k, more intervals and a 5k.
WK7 - a short recovery run, intervals and the a new Long Run @ 12.5K. Was really thrilled with the new distance. Managed to control my pace a little but I still have a tendency to start too quickly.
WK8 - a benchmark, a 9k recovery run and intervals.
All the interval runs in the period have been repititions of 200m; I find these the most difficult of the runs tough on the thighs and calves. In week 7 I resorted to a deep tissue massage, hell at the time but heaven afterwards!
My Quest for April is to continue with the next 4 weeks of the plan. The long run will increase in distance and the length of the intervals increases.
Happy running
