Timolol

Previously I was using Latanaprost only at night and Timolol only in the morning. I would generally use the Timolol around 8 am and the Latanaprost just before bed (usually around midnight).

Unfortunately my IOP (eye pressure) have started to increase so my Consultant has change my eye drops from Latanoprost (Monopost ) 1 drop daily to Dorzolamide/Timolol Cosopt 2 drops daily.

I'm hoping to try something like Monoprost to see whether I'm intolerant to the beta blocker timolol in the Fixapost.

Previously I was prescribed Timolol and Latanoprost on separate occasions, I had a bad reactions to both of them. Latanoprost was particularly bad ( shortness of breath, chest pain, tightness of throat), ended up calling ambulance. I'm now scared to try any other eye drops.

I had been looking on various websites about possible drug reactions and discovered that as Timolol is a beta blocker, when taken with Amlodipine it could lower my BP even more, but as my dose is very low (2.5 mg) I cannot see it being a problem, unless I start falling over!

Travoprost, and Brinzolamide/Timolol Mylan. The side effects fact sheet is a pretty scary read etc, with particular emphasis on the heart. I would be interested if anyone has any experience of this treatment etc. Thanks.

I had tried "Timolol" before Latanoprost and experienced dizziness , so I stopped. I'm now so scared of using eye drops. I have read about SLT. Would it be an option?

I think that I'm having a bad reaction to timolol? The hospital now want to put me on iopodine 1mg, but I'm not sure about that. They haven't discussed anything with me about any of this, just told me to go to the hospital and collect the prescription from them!

Dorzolomide with Timolol twice a day both eyes, Iopidine twice a day and Monopost twice a day, both eyes. We have both noticed side effects, mostly confusion, and communication issues, some memory loss. I’m sure this is because of the medication, but if he needs them, what can we do?

I have been on latanoprost drops for 2 years and they recently stopped working for me and I started to lose some vision, so I was put on timolol drops as well, which have helped stabilise my pressures now.

I have had glaucoma now for about 8-9 years, and using Latanoprost/timolol drops which is keeping my pressure at an aceptable level. I have got used to some staining below my eyes which I believe is a possible side effect.

I've finished them now and she has prescribed Timolol drops for a short time to reduce pressures but I've had terrible heartburn since taking them, anyone else experience this?

Also, is anyone having good results using timolol instead? Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

I was prescribed Latanoprost (1 drop in both eyes at night) and Timolol (1 drop in right eye in the morning). I started taking these on 7 May.

Tried fixapost and Timolol briefly before surgery and i don’t think it worked. My eye pressures have gone up and the consultant has put me on monopost hoping the combination of the eye drops and trabeculectomy will work together to lower my eye pressure.

hi I’ve had various drops over my 7 years of being diagnosed with glaucoma my consultant has just added diozolomide drops into my Monopost Timilol mix what’s your experience of these drops as I’ve not been able to get a single drop out the bottle either nothing or too much also what side effects if any

I’ve been using these drops for about 15 years. The pharmacist regularly provides different brands. Sometimes they have difficulty obtaining the drops. This is the first time I have been given eylamdol brand and I’m finding it really difficult to drop into my eyes. I’ve read the leaflet and practiced

Now the only drops I take are Dorzolamide timolol in the left eye, twice a day.I switched to the preservative free drops a few months ago but I think it's negatively affecting my lashes? Right eye with no drops, the lashes are normal but the left eye, the lashes seem to be getting shorter!

In my repeat prescriptions, I have been switched from the 5ML dropper bottle to single unit doses. I wasn’t contacted by my GP first so I have no idea why, but because they’re single unit doses and I have to use it morning and night, effectively I have only been provided with half what I usually get
