Hello everyone after being diagnosed 3 years ago (49 now) with macular oedema and CRVO ive had laser, injections and just received my 2nd steroid implant last Friday, it wasn’t my normal doctor of which I’m not happy about as I went through a totally different procedure and he was very rough with me and seemed to take 3 times aslong. My question is, is it right that I can still see my implant floating in my eye? I know it dissolves but I’m wondering if he hasn’t put it as far back as he should as I obviously don’t want any further complications.
Ozurdex implant. : Hello everyone after... - Macular Society
Ozurdex implant.
I have had 3 of the ozurdex implants and each time it was a bit different. Sometimes I saw it floating longer than others.

I had an Ozurdex implant last October and have had a black blob the shape of a lozenge in my vision on a regular basis but usually only after I have needed to look downwards for an extended time. Frequency did decrease over time but did experience it as recently as a couple of weeks ago but it has diminished in size.Alun
Yep same with me, I can see it at the top of my vision. I've also have ocular pressure problems since so make sure they monitor those.
Thanks for the replies everyone, I just hope my next experience isn’t half as bad .
Hi, sorry you had a bad time with it. Mine (7) were all better than the previous antivegf injections I'd had. I did have an odd time where the injector massaged my eyeball with his gloved finger which made me feel sick. I asked my consultant about it and he explained the implant leaves a bigger furrow in the white of the eye and sometimes needs help closing up quickly to prevent infection. Best of luck going forwards .
