Thank you to so many of my friends who gave advice on the reactions I am experiencing on be given the dilating drops, I kept my eyes hydrated, and used soothing drops after being given Tropicamide, I spoke to the clinic and they feel I have an allergy so they are going to try out 2 different ones over the next 2 visits to decide which might be best, I still had a strong reaction and felt quite sick but kept using the soothing drops whilst waiting for scans and eye examination, this time I could tolerate the lights much better.
The usual avoidance of sun light after injections was still necessary but that’s ok.
The good news also is my left eye was dry and don’t need an injection for 2 months, the right eye showed some improv,ent so it was good news.
The injections were very different, one was perfect then the next was so painful but I am recovering quite well today.
So hoping you can see how much help we give one another and let you know how grateful I am for the advice.

Glad you have some good news. Its such a good feeling when we hear things are stable. It sounds like your clinic is being really helpful trying different options for you with the dilation drops. Our NHS staff are so kind.
It's a puzzle how our injection experiences differ so much each time but glad you are recovering from the painful one.

So glad you are experiencing improvements and that the clinic is listening to you. I find mine marvellous they are very concerned about any pain. A very interesting thing happened to me last time in that I had the dreaded drops and scan very quickly but then had a 2 1/2 hour wait as the only doctor on duty wanted to see quite a lot of us. Fair enough I’d rather wait than be brushed off. Anyway my point is I had absolutely no pain or even irritation at all neither when the injection went in or after so am wondering if the dilating drops are the culprits for the mild to extreme irritation we all get. Just a thought. Sorry for long post.
Hi, thanks for your post, it is interesting your delay in having injections were pain free, so pleased for you but the waiting around can be a nuisance but we have no choice. I also think it is down to the injector, my doctor knew she had misjudged something as apologised immediately for it being so painful. They are good people who are human.
