Hello everyone

Having tried DLA for over a year its still in the appeal stages i wanted to try for ESA can someone tell me more about it can it be alot easier to get or is it the same as DLA.

HI the forms are slightly different but the are still scored on points i had to battle with DLA for the past 18 years however i won my case as they took it way and i have become worse, But May last year i got it for life but that really is not the case as DLA is finishing this year and being replaced with PIP and everybody has to be checked again they do not transfer you over so we will be filling in more forms but was told they would not contact me before 2015!When claiming make sure you enclose as much eveidence as possible , As for ESA i had my letter last week being placed in support group so i dont need to go to job centre as i have been put in unfit to work group.This has now replace incapacity benefit.

I have lupus and hughs syndrome (sticky blood) have had 18 clots in legs 4 in lungs and have chronic obstrutive airways, asthma, i have to go to GP twice a week for blood test i have had to have a port cath in chest as my vaines are rubbish this is the only way they can get blood from me now, but thankfully i have a fantastic GP the looks after me as well as 2 consultants .

Depends what other money you have coming in. If you have been working and have enough stamps then it does not matter what income you have as will be on Contribution based ESA. If you have not worked and don't have enough stamps you will be on Income based ESA.

You will also have to provide medical certificates.

It is easier than DLA to get but can still be awkward. You will have to go for a medical which really is is sat in a room answering questions.
