Hi just a quick update from my last about nervous and anxious going for ESA. That date had to be cancelled, as I wanted it to be recorded. However, I have since had my assessment & it wasn't too bad I am just waiting for see if its bad news that I'm not going to get it. I she looked at my hands, lightly touched my legs, but said that she didn't expect me to get out of my wheelchair to be examined. I feel relieved it's over, now it's just waiting for result.
My Dla is now coming to an end & I'm in the process of form filling or I should say my sister is completing the form for me, so I'm now feeling anxious about that., isn't all such fun been disabled.

That sounds promising Cal..that the assessor didn't make u stand or anything..hop on one leg etc!!! I went to an ESA assessment and had to appeal afterwards..when u appeal u get all the paperwork from an assessment n she had put that I was able to sit in a chair for 64 minutes...I too am in a wheelchair!!! That was what I was sitting on!!! 😹
So that's one assessment down n one to go..your halfway there!! Form filling n assessments r very stressful but you're doing well.
Thanks just dreading the letter coming. She seemed quite nice, but you can never tell. My sister filled the form out for me because my writing is not always plain, so I made my writing appear worse to show that I can barely use my hands, because 23 years ago I had a flare & couldn't use them at all, not even scratch my nose, i still can't make myself drinks or do a lot for myself. I use voice activation on my phone and tablet a lot.
I think it's just a lottery as to whether you get benefits or not, keeping my fingers crossed for your appeal.
My appeal happened a couple of years ago now..I won it n I didn't even bother going to the tribunal!! I'm the same with my hands..best to get someone to fill forms in on your behalf.
