Feeling much relieved today, got letter from Dwp re ESA. It said that I was staying in the support group, but instead of Income related because of my work pension, before I am now in the contribution group had been hoping to get into enhanced as my mum has to do almost everything for me except personal things, but I am just grateful that it's over with. Now I only have to wait & worry about my PIP application as DLA has been ended. Thank you to everyone who helped me through it.
It takes a lot of strength with all these appointments where you have to explain yourself.
They say it’s to filter out the fakes, but if your genuinely not unwell then you most likely can head to all these assessments with no worry or fear. They can mentally play the game!!! When your unwell it’s draining to explain it to others.

Congratulations on getting into the support group for ESA. Enhanced is the highest level of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) that you can get for Daily Living and/or Mobility. Enhanced has nothing to do with ESA. Are you awaiting a PIP decision as well?
I am so pleased for you too. It must be such a relief staying in the support group. Good Luck with your Pip too. Isn't it exhausting though. I am having to renew my ESA at the moment (near impossible with constant flares). Did they ask you to go to an assessment for your ESA?

Thanks, yes I had to go for an assessment, but it wasn't so bad. My mum & I got a wheel chair
taxi to the door, then my mum pushed me in & did everything for me. I had to tell them at least 3 weeks before that I wanted it to be recorded. I didn't get a physical examined, she just checked my arms & legs whilst I sat in my wheelchair & asked how far can I walk, I said just around the house, had I had any recent falls, I said that I had tripped & that I was waiting for xray results for my toe. When did I last go to the doctors, how often do I go to rheumatology, who is my carer, very sorry can't remember any thing else.
What a lot for you to go through! Thank you so much for letting me know. I will be prepared incase I have to go. Last time I had to re apply I wasn't asked to go. I am going to request my assessment is recorded when I return the paperwork. Did they do anything regarding lighting in the room? I am extremely photosensitive, but will mention that incase I have to go. Wishing you lots of luck with your PIP too.
Sorry I fell asleep whilest writing last night & so forgot to mention write on your form that you need the use of a lift if the room is not on ground floor, if you can don't drive because they ask where you park your car & they work out how far you can walk so get a taxi to the door if possible & also ask the driver to help you out of the car, because you are watched by cameras every where they are legally able to check shopping centre cameras, even at the entrance door way.
Include a copy hospital clinic letters, a copy of your repeat prescriptions & also if you do have an assessment take copies of your answers, copies of any other paper work that you had included with your application.

Thank you so much! I will certainly add everything in. I have already mentioned that I cannot do stairs or travel far but will add more. Let us know how you get on with your Pip too. Isn't it all so exhausting.
I will just be relieved when it's all over until next time. My sister when she xferred to Pip 1st time, only got 1 year & had to reapply the 2nd time last year. No wonder they can't keep up with the assessments if they do this to everyone. I think that it's just to keep themselves in jobs.
To give you some confidence I got awarded 6 years with Pip. I really hope the same happens for you. I also didn't have to go for an assessment. Wishing you lots of luck. I am still filling in the ESA, fed up with it. It is so draining.
That was good, I'll keep my fingers crossed. Did you keep your car? Because that is my main worry as I can only drive an automatic with electronic handbrake & hand controls. I couldn't afford to buy my 1st automatic myself so my dad paid/helped/bought me my 1st automatic car but now he's dead &so will be stuck in house if not.
Yes I did. The car us always a huge worry. Give lots of examples of why you need an automatic. Add extension pages to your PIP application with as much detail as possible. Can you get a support Letter also to back you up from your GP or other one of your medical team. I will keep my fingers crossed for you too.
