St Thomas Hospital: please can anyone tell me if... - LUPUS UK
St Thomas Hospital
Hi pinky56,
My local rheumatologist referred me to St Thomas' Hospital Lupus Unit for confirmation of diagnosis. I now go to London once a year and the rest of the time I see my local rheumy. Hope you manage to get an appointment.
Yols
I saw my local rheumy for a year with no results. Fortunately I had insurance which sent me to Dr D'Cruz, diagnosed immediately and he referred me to St Thomas' NHS. Not fair I know. A good GP is a blessing. Persevere and keep notes, good luck.... x
It took a year for my health authority to approve it and then a few more months waiting for an appointment. I printed info from the internet and took it to my GP to convince them that this would be the best way to treat me. As soon as I saw Dr D'Cruz I had a proper diagnosis and treatment. this was 7 years ago. I go twice a year now. Hope this helps. X
Hi, it really depends on your reumy. I asked two at the same hospital then one left and I asked her replacement who was happy to ref me. If you live up north you could also try Prof Moots at the Liverpool Royal University hospital in Aintree as I have been told that is a good clinic as well. Hope it helps Helen
