Rituximab and GLP-1

Hello all,

I’ve been approved Rituximab which I should start in a couple of weeks, however I am currently taking Mounjaro (The GLP-1 drug for weight loss - similar to ozempic/wegovy). I can’t see anything online about needing to stop it ahead of the Rituximab treatment but I am aware it’s a relatively new drug so there may not be many studies done yet. I’m awaiting advice from my rhuemy but in the meantime thought I’d reach out on here to see if anyone has had any experience being on both drugs at the same time?

Thanks x

Hi - not on rituximab but have been using Mounjaro with a different biologic (sekucinumab) without issue. But it may be different for infusions. Hopefully you'll get some considered advice from your rheumatologist. It might be worth asking on the Mounjaro subs on Reddit there as there are a lot of people potentially in the same boat.
