Have you been searching for mapecrine? That is the wrong spelling - it is mepacrine, Google can be very fussy though it would normally correct the search.

I've been on mepacrine for a couple of years and haven't noticed any side effects at all. It is the only medication I've taken that has managed to rid me of the horrible itchy SCLE rash. It is a godsend!

Hi I’m on Mepacrine and do retain fluid. It’s very new to this country and was found to be successful in the States. It’s helped me a lot with inflammation and my rash. Actually I was discussing this drug with my professor this very afternoon. They are gleaming more evidence as more people are on it and for longer periods.

Yes I did see something about this. Have u found it useful to take? I think it may be helping with my tiredness and swelling but dont know if im just having a good run at the moment since my last flare. I was prescribed it not for my skin as i dont have the lupus that affects the skin just SLE so was a bit unsure of taking it. Thank you 4 replying it really helps and is appreciated

Been taking since January.I think I'm feeling less tired.

I'm sleeping better.

I think my skin is improving but I also think it is affecting my nervous system. I go swimming and have suddenly got stronger. (My arms feel stronger and leg kick swimming I no longer need to think about). I was getting one sided migraines they have stopped. It might also be that I'm tolerating the sun better.

I'm on 300mg hydroxychlorine. 50 mg Mepacrine three days a week.
