ZENTIVA, again!

I have had a frustrating morning .(read tearing my hair out, well what's left of it) I am trying to source my Zentiva Hydroxychloroquine from local pharmacies, they all say "don't have it" and " can't order it" .So I called Zentiva, very pleasant and helpful young man called James tells me that Boots and ZENTIVA came to an agreement a couple of days ago and that Boots can definitely obtain it. So , I am going to try again and tell them what Zentiva have said, and insist they get it for me.

sorry to hear this kalas2008. Good luck. I’ve just been to collect my Zentiva Hydroxychloroqine. My independent pharmacy is struggling again to get it. I have to check back next Tuesday!!!!!!! I’m back to reducing my dose. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

It's so upsetting and it's all down to money. An independent pharmacy suggested that I ask my GP to prescribe a batch of Zentiva so I'm seeing her on Tuesday.

My prescription has said ZENTIVA for a couple of years now, the GPs seem ok with specifying it, but the pharmacies say they can't get it. I hope you have better luck than me

Yes tell us the outcome as boots in my town flat out refused to order it as they said they don't order medicines in of a specific make any more like the other 10 chemists I tried. They only order hydroxychloroquine for their shelf and what make comes in comes in like all the other chemists. I think most warehouses can get it but they often choose to by quinoric makes as its cheaper. I really feel your frustration. This monthly or two monthly ring round is very wearing to see who has some on the shelf. See if you can find a chemist good enough to put boxes by with your name on when they randomly get it in. I've found one who said they will but I don't know if they'll get any in before my next prescription. Its just so awful this situation.

There used to be one that did that for me but the lock downs changed all that.I am messaging my MP next.

I have messaged my MP and got a reply from his caseworker straight away. He's contacted the local Health Board and is waiting to hear from them. I'm not sure if they have any sway over Wholesalers?

I also contacted You and Yours on Radio 4 but heard nothing.

It is loaded with information, contacts, etc. I understand if you want to find out, sometimes you need to go to the top of the mountain. Many of us climb everyday. I hope this helps your journey.
