Zentiva shortages still?!

is anyone else still not getting Zentiva hydroxychloroquine? I have used an independent pharmacy who are absolutely on the ball but have been unable to fulfil my prescription for months now. If you have managed to get some, can you share which pharmacy as I am going to have to try elsewhere? Is having a diagnosed illness not enough without being unable to easily access medication? Tried plaquenil brand and made me ill, is Blackrock really similar to Zentiva?

I've got the same problem. I've heard that Blackrock is closest to Zentiva. All the best

My nominated pharmacy have been unable to get Zentiva or Blackrock, although pharmacist showed me both could be selected on the system. It then defaulted to Hydroxychloroquine, thereby removing the brand that had been indicated. Default was Sunderland IPCA which been given for two months.

Nominated pharmacy advised to contact local Boots. The manager phoned back straight away and seemed confident he could get Zentiva. I went in today with paper prescription and found two boxes awaiting me.

I last tried local nominated pharmacy last month and did not bother this time. I am wondering whether to move everything to Boots. I believe they can deliver.

My local pharmacy are lovely too, based at the GP surgery and very close to home

Boots is some way away, and there can be big queues.

Was good there today though 11.45 am.

By 12 noon, lunchtime queue was there.

It is worth phoning local branch to ask first, to start with their was the supply issue.

which Boots supplied you. I have just tried Boots Pembroke Dock and they cannot get it

Maybe it is hit and miss.I phoned them last month, they phoned back three times. Once it was the branch manager.

I'm nowhere near Pembroke Dock..

Maybe it was a one off. Can see next month

Have not had Zentiva last two months before that, and even Boots was having difficulties getting anything before that. Maybe this manager tried very hard . I don't know.

strange isn’t it? Perhaps survey can pinpoint whether it is geographical but I doubt it. Good luck getting your prescription fulfilled x

I got Hydrox made by Ipca Labs in Sunderland on my last prescription. I’ve been fine with them.first time having this make.

IPCA is the same ingredients as Quinoric which you've said below you tried Quinoric n it upset you so I wouldn't recommend you try IPCA 🤗💜🌈xx

My independent pharmacy still trying but no luck. I have Ipca which he says is the nearest match, seems OK. Felt a bit nauseous first few days but OK now. Didn't help that my brand of Omeprazole changed too, different colour coatings, why do they need to colour them? Mine are normally white.

My Omeprazole has also changed. I'm now using another person's which they have too much of, which was the brand I had before.

I had issues on the new omeprazole brand a few minutes after taking, my stomach feels raw. Think it was the papery coating. Ridiculous.

I've been waiting for a month for my local Boot's to delivery my Zentiva. No luck still. Am taking half my prescribed dose at mo but will run out soon. Can't tolerate any other brand.

Having the same problem Tesco pharmacy claiming they cant request certain brands anymore due to cost. But the pharmisit 2 months ago tripple checked with me what brand i wanted

My wife started on hydroxy (Black Rock) in October 2020 on the 200/400 routine. She transferred to the 300mg tabs late 21. Has had no problems with supply or side effects whatsoever. Perhaps we are just lucky but they are working well for us. Good Luck.

Thank you for responding. I have been on hydroxychloroquine since 2006, originally taking the Plaquenil then its sister company Zentiva which was almost identical. I once tried Quinoric which did not agree with me, hence my reluctance to change.

I meant I tried Quinoric and it upset me. Plaquenil was the original brand and identical to Zentiva. Brain fog, anyone remember what we were discussing 😳😂
