Walk in centre’s

So following the words of our PM on Sunday night, we set off early to our nearest walk in centre to try and and get our 3rd jab earlier than the one we have already booked.

The first centre was closed! The second had a big melè of confused angry people outside reading a new sign saying appointments only!

What a farce. On the news that night we saw that there are NO WALK IN CENTRES in our area!

Does anyone have a number for Boris? 😣😖😩

Article in the Guardian about how immunosuppressed people who were wrongly entered in the system as having a booster rather than a 3rd primary are now experiencing problems getting the booster. And the mess we went through for the 3rd primaries is replaying for the follow-up despite BoJo having made a big thing about them ...

Not surprised people were wrongly entered in the system. When I went for my 3rd in October I took a deep breath and asked them to clarify the difference between the 3rd vaccine and the booster. They looked a bit startled and then after a bit of a think, said that it was just about the reporting but the system at that time didn't have the option to record a 3rd vaccine. In the end they just wrote all my details on a piece of paper. Then I started getting reminder letters about going for the 3rd vaccine. I rang my GP and it hadn't been recorded at all! Luckily one of the receptionists is a bit of a terrier (in a good way) and wouldn't let it go. She's managed to sort it out. It's all very well announcing booster programmes and what have you but they should make sure the infrastructure is there to actually deliver it - it's completely unfair for GPS to be put in the position of having to deliver vaccines at the cost of primary care within a system that is already stretched to breaking point.

I think we have two in the county both not easy to get to. GP surgery website says no boosters available at the surgery.

I'm having issues getting my second jab as had such a bad reaction to the first, GP is asking for advice on whether to vaccinate and if so which jab I should have. Nobody taking responsibility for the situation. Been waiting weeks.

When there is a local centre I'm going to go there and just get a different jab to the first. I can't watch the news as I want a second jab so badly.

Everyone must wear masks. I caught covid passing a struggling runner on a pavement I could not get away from March 2020 at the start of the pandemic

- it stays in the air for 45 seconds even in the safest conditions. It is so easy to walk into a stream of virus-laden air if someone is breathing loads out - outside too.

I know how you are feeling. I found no one would take responsibility as to which vaccine I should have as my 3rd primary dose. I reacted to AZ my 1st + 2nd dose and have had Pfizer this afternoon as my 3rd primary. Too early to say if I will react to this.

How are you today following your Pfizer jab?

Thank you so much for asking. Surprisingly ok. I had a very mild headache last night but actually think that was the stress of it all. For me, so far was better than the AZ ones I had. How are you getting on? 🌸🌷

Third jab tomorrow, Pfizer I think, hoping it doesn’t induce a flare this time.

Good luck tomorrow. I hope it goes well and without a flare this time.

I think given the current situation runners should not be on pavements!

Take care.

I took aspirin, day 9 onwards of AZ...as I had such a bad reaction and I found nothing listed in side effects, and then it was on the news..glad I took aspirin.

Working hard to understand it all. As did not go to hospital nothing was investigated.

So much is not fully understood. It is also very difficult to discuss because feelings run high, and people find it difficult to relate to.

All my family were fine on AZ - it was just me...

Here is Wales we can’t just walk in. It’s very confusing that the “national news” talks only about England, and particularly that centre of the universe, London. When I went for my third primary there was a young girl kicking off at the counter insisting she was entitled to a booster by walking in as she saw it on the TV. The clerk said that wasn’t the case and the girl started raising her voice and said “so what are you going to do about it then?” The wonderful lady, completely unruffled said “ I’m going to come with you and show you the way out, as you are stuck in a queue”. Priceless! I think that stunned the girl. And off they went. It is so confusing with countries in the union working at a different pace. England seem out of kilter with the other three but we are starting to come together a bit more. You would think that all 4 administrations would come together with a common policy and announce precautions at the same time with the same rules. If they say you can walk in for vaccines in England then you should be able to walk in for your vaccines. They can do that in London! What about other people in England are they less important? Makes me mad, it’s just not fair. Where are all these hundreds of volunteer people they have that can give the jab?

Good morning friends.

Two things:

1) I had severe allergic reaction in February to Astra Zeneca. My consultant had meeting with vaccination team to ask best way forward with me - I have now had two Pfizer (and didn't end up in hospital like I did with Astra Zeneca). So I am very behind with my vaccinations.

2) My son works in retail we spent hours trying to get him booked in for a booster. The Internet kept crashing. Eventually we managed to book one 40 minute drive away on 23rd December. I phoned 119 to book mine for February and said it was the third dose and was told "ma'am the third and booster jabs are identical it is purely an extra dose for clinically vulnerable " so there you go.

All a bit muddled up and frustrating. There are no walk in centres near me either. Poor NHS are trying so hard and are at breaking point. Huge applause to them all. Good luck to everyone and

May you all have a Happy Christmas and a healthy New Year.☃️🎄

Thanks Positive.

I'm going back to GP (not with consultant at the moment) and will ask where they have got to with getting advice, and push for Pfizer. Thanks for sharing. Given me hope and feel more confident about things.🍰💐🎄
