Green tomatoes

Our first tomato’s have arrived! Pity I can’t eat many as acidic foods makes my RA worse but these smell amazing, just like my grandpa’s greenhouse when I was young. Really brings back memories of him. 😃

Fantastic smell aren’t they when you grow your own 👍 I just brush past the leaves in greenhouse and the smell is awesome, I wish you could bottle it. My daughter only eats home grown toms and waits all year for them 🤣 we grow in abundance and freeze loads for cooking through winter too 👍great it brings back good memories for you too 😀

Yes I spotted some coming on our tomato plants this week- what a shame you can’t eat them - have a lovely weekend xx

Could you not try roasting them in olive oil and sugar, that works for me as the tomatoes tend to irritate my bladder and Ive found cooked like this it reduces the acidity and I really enjoy them.I usually make that with gluten free pasta for a lunch.best of luck x

What a wonderful memory! I still have no real smell or taste from Covid, but looking at your photo, my brain lets me smell the wonderful homegrown tomato smell. Thank you.

Healing hugs.

The minds a great healer. Hopefully your smell will return in due course?

It is almost 9 months with no taste and smell. The good news is that some of the other symptoms are showing signs of improvement which I hope means in time all will improve. Who knows😀

Healing hugs.

Yum. We dust/bread and fry them…. no surprise. 😜 Serve them with some sort of aioli (I like some spice) with a nice Gewürztraminer. Then prepare to die the next day but it’ll be worth it.

Congratulations. I adore tomatoes and eat a lot of them daily. I just love the smell of them and how the different varieties have subtle differences. Ones fresh from the greenhouse are amazing. Sadly the only thing I grow well are weeds. You should be so proud 🍅🍅🍅
