Gigi celebrated her 2nd Birthday on Saturday! She is working to open one of her presents which by the way was a pink football that she loves. When we first rescued her she had lyme disease and was treated, but at her appoinment last week, she tested positive again with a higher titer. They think she has been re-infected, but I am not sure she just never got over it. She is taking antibiotics and then will be vaccinated against it. Her main symptom that we can tell since she can not talk ( trust me, she tries) is that although she is very playful, she gets tired very quickly. Sounds familiar to all of us. She is a real sweetie and so good natured.
Healing hugs.

I did not have presents for one of our dogs at Christmas one year when our kids were younger. Didn't matter--the dog took to opening the kids presents.
Yes, if I get a package that is hard to open, I let Gigi start. She likes the challenge and is helping me. For fun, I wrap little treats in boxes and tubes so she can unwrap them.
It is so fun to watch them open something. When Gigi finally got to the pink football, she was so excited. She has been carrying it with her everywhere.
Happy birthday Gigi and get well soon.Millie is 12 on Friday (and getting grumpier) not liking the heat at the moment so no walks even refused a swim in the tide this morning ...just wants to be in front of the fan xx
Gigi says thank you and hi to Millie. Gigi doesn't like the heat and humidity either and neither do I. I like the beauty of nature in the summer so I guess it is a trade off.
Happy Birthday Gigi! I'm surprised there was not a doggy chaise longe for her to recline on when she has her 'episodes'. They do exist for dogs. I've seen them! Precious girl. I wanted to share a photo of my beloved, but very sadly departed only last Friday, girl. We were very fortunate to have her 15 1/2 years. Such love and loyalty I have never known and am very grateful for. Going for a lie down now as my Loopy Lupus fatigue is a challenge in the heat - oh wait I'm still in bed 😁. Have a good day peeps xx

so sorry CC, I thought I was going to lose my Mandy a few weeks back. she was having trouble breathing and coughing. diagnosed with congestive heart failure. luckily the medication is working and although she has to take things easy [difficult for a ball mad dog] I have her for a bit longer. she is nearly 17 but I have only had her for 2 and a half years since her previous human died. losing animals is so very hard xx
