Pre-op update

Hi folks just an update - went for pre op today saw a lovely nurse who said wow for someone with Lupus & RA you look amazing 🤣 this cheered me up no end - I’m a very colourful person who always coordinates colours - if I dress nice, do my hair nice and wear make up then I feel much better about myself trouble is people think I look so well I couldn’t possibly have Lupus - anyhow she then said the consultant will be ringing you tomorrow with biopsy results and we’ve bought your CT scan forward so it’s this Friday and that we will probably have you in next week for hysterectomy - well this has slightly put the wind up me as I think omg it must be cancer as why have they bought CT scan forward 😩 Anyhow I await the dreaded call tomorrow so will keep you all updated x

I bet you looked lovely today and good for you for making an effort (note to self to make one more often )😂😉. There’s nothing I can say to stop you worrying so I won’t but I will say the whole forum will be sending you so much love and well wishes .

I am so pleased that you had such a lovely compliment. I am sure you looked beautiful. Not long to wait for the biopsy results but I bet it will feel like a lifetime for you? I expect they have brought the CT scan forward to ensure your op can go ahead next week. I am thinking of you and hoping that the news will be better than you fear. I remember so well waiting for mine and they were fibroids inside and outside of the womb. Be kind to yourself tonight lovely xxx

I would just like to wish you Good Luck for your CT Scan on Friday.

Hoping when you receive your Biopsy results tomorrow that it proves to be benign.

You must have been smiling from ear to ear when this Nurse noticed how good you where looking. It is a great lift for the spirits, gives you a wee boost. It is always nice to take pride in yourself, and I bet you do this in abundance.

Hi svfarmer I’d just like to add to all the well wishes and say keep up the good work,appearance is everything and it helps dictate our mood and makes our positivity bloom.as an ex hairdresser I so remember the joy I felt when I did a good makeover on someone feeling low because of their hair and they do become a completely different person,they have that wonderful confidence and glow restored after that hour or twos appointment,I bet you felt great getting that compliment it’s breeds positivity doesent it.Best of luck you’ll cope just fine you’ll see.take care xx

What a lovely compliment the nurse gave you. It’s great for your mental health and I agree it’s good to dress up and it helps you feel good on the inside as well even though you don’t feel like it all the time. When I went thru chemo the first thing I did was get up, put my wig on, did my makeup etc, it made me feel human again, I got thru the treatment doing this every day. Vain as I might be but it helped me cope. Fingers crossed you get a good result from your scan. Best wishes.x

I was in your position 6 years ago, I did have cancer, BUT my complete hysterectomy was done using keyhole surgery and I was home the next day, I did have 3 sessions of bracca therapy (radiotherapy) but I was well throughout this time and I have never looked back.Stay strong and I hope all will be well.

Been struggling. Brother and dad continue to go downhill with failing hearts. It’s so overwhelming especially my brother as we’re close.

So this prevents interactions with others now.
