I remember seeing posts on here about high B12 levels . Did any of you lovely people get to the bottom of it and find out if it was an absorption problem and a “false” high reading

Thank you as always for being brilliant forum friends 🙏

I always have very high levels - but I take B12 orally everyday because I have neuropathy and severe gastric issues inc gastroparesis - so am on daily PPI. This definitely skews my B12 results so I can’t rely on them but I decided it was a risk worth taking methyl B12 by Jarrow and no longer get much gastritis pain since buying and taking it regularly. My doctors know I take it and the gastro seemed to approve when I mentioned it last year.

Hi Tiggywoos, can you please elaborate on this a little more. I've recently had to have 6 B12 jabs as my B12 levels were shown as being low. However, having had the jabs I found that I was unable to sleep and was waking up in drenching sweats.

I spoke with my GP about this and he said it could be due to high B12 levels. He looked at my blood results and queried why on earth I was asked to have B12 jabs as my levels pre jabs were borderline low.

My GP. And then it was the practice nurse who questioned why he'd asked for this... after she'd already given the 5th dose!

I never got to the bottom of why mine were too high despite never taking supplements and having the symptoms of low B12 . I think it’s quite a complicated topic!
