Hi - just wondered if anyone suffers with a very high temperature during a flare up and how long does it usually last? Not sure whether my 3 day high temperature is as a result of a lupus flare or an infection. Just awaiting blood tests. Thanks
High temperature : Hi - just wondered if anyone... - LUPUS UK
High temperature
Fevers are common with lupus (I veer from hot to cold all the time, not helped by the menopause), but that said I don't think any of us can tell what is going on for you. Also, when I have a flare, it is a bit like having the flu for me, which is fun during Covid times. Hope you get some answers from the blood test x
Hello it’s been a long time since I posted but yes I get a high temp and sweets during the night whitch is normally followed by very red cheeks and a flare I have mixed connective tissue not lupus (yet ) but the night swets are not nice I normally get a blood test after the swets just to check it’s not infection (I’m on methotrexate and had renal sepsis twice) if in doubt get checked
Hi Sarahze. I get hot flushes when I'm flaring along with feeling chilly afterwards. But my actual temperature is fine. For me I wonder if it is hormonal. I have bloods done fortnightly. Hope you feel less hot soon!🌻
Hi Sarahze, I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2018 and had a temp that varied from 38 to 39.5 for a couple of years. I had lost a lot of weight (10lbs in 2 weeks) and I found it hard to maintain my bodyweight in spite of eating normally. As well as the Hydroxychloroquine I was put on an increasing dose of MTX, but no-one told me how long it would take to feel properly well again - a lesson in patience for me! I am so grateful to be feeling well now on my cocktail of drugs. and I hope you are feeling better soon. Hang in there! sending hugs, Liz x
