AstraZeneca Vaccine 2 (Oxford)

I just had vaccine 2 and thought I'd post on how I get on with it. So far so good, but I'll edit this post with any updates over the next few days. I have lupus and sjogren's syndrome and I'm in my 30s.

The first vaccine went ok for me, this is the post I did on the first one: healthunlocked.com/lupusuk/...

I just thought it might be helpful to share in case anyone is wondering what it's like, but I fully appreciate everyone is different and some of us on this forum have had a much harder time than others. I'm hoping you all have a decent vaccine experience and that you can get back to feeling safe indoors and around friends and family soon.

Update: 24 hours in and no problems whatsoever. My arm ached a tiny bit for the first few hours but nothing like with the first one. I felt a bit foggy/tired and my neck and upper back hurt a little bit but nothing that caused me any concern or stopped me doing anything. I woke up this morning feeling absolutely normal. No pain and no fog. So far so good!

Update: 48 hours in and still no problems. For me the second vaccine has so far been really smooth. I'll keep updating up to day five.

Congratulations!! 🤗🙌I had second Oxford two weeks ago n had less side effects than the first..having said that both of them were manageable. I'm now as protected as I can be..but I'm only going out when absolutely necessary coz of the sun!! 🤠😎😹

Take it easy 🌈😽😽xx

Hey Krazykat26 ! That sounds very sensible and I'm so happy you're fully protected! I have to say the second one has been absolutely fine - I was nervous with all the press about blood clots etc but vaccine 2 has been a total breeze so far. Even better than flu jab. So glad I got it done. Looking forward to seeing other people again in 3 to 4 weeks. I was told it can take up to 4 weeks for immunity to kick in so I'm expecting to get out in the world in mid June! xxxx

Yes I was nervous too after the reports..I actually waited for five days before I said that was fine coz I'd read reports of delayed side effects!! 😹🌈😽😽Xx
