Happy new years! i wanted to come on here and see if anyone else with lupus has been dealing with nausea due to lupus? i have made a post about my nausea before, it started around the same time my symptoms for lupus started and it did not get any better or worse after diagnosis and being put on hydrochloroquine (im currently on 200mg bc i lost a lot of weight and my original prescribed amount of 400 was too much for my weight). Just to put it into perspective - i've always been on the slimmer side and was never a major "foodie" but i did have my foods i loved eating and made sure i ate so i wasnt underweight. I'm just really struggling this week not only with the nausea but with a MAJOR loss of appetite. usually the nausea will make me not want to eat but after an hour or so im good to go and eat anything, but for the past month i've had a hard time even wanting to sit at the table to eat my favourite meal. and when i tell you im STARVING - i mean it. I'm starving but my appetite is so low and nothing tastes good that i've had to resort to just having small snacks through out the day to get me thought since i know i wont be finishing a full meal. I'm assuming my insane lack of energy recently is also a result of not eating properly. has anyone dealt with this? is there anything maybe the doctor can do medication or otherwise?

Hi My wife is having the same problem she has no appetite whatsoever and does not seem to feel hungry too. During May/June 20 she was in hospital for 6 weeks as she could not hold down anything (including her tablets). The Drs found 3 infections in lungs, throat (thrush) and stomach (gastritis) eventually she was discharged with no diagnosis as they failed to find anything as the root cause for her not eating. Now 6 months later she exists on Complan with little real food. The Drs here locally seem to have given up but I cannot see that anyone should be left to exist on a single food supplement -- there must be a medical reason for anyone not eating. There are two things she has not been tested for i.e Achalasia and/or Gastroparesis we are hoping that some specialist will eventually look into these as a possible cause.
I have an unofficial diagnosis of Behçet’s and suffer from severe nausea. Am prescribed prochloperazine which do work so I am able to eat. Hope you get some help soon as not being able to eat isn’t good. Xx
