How would you all like a new bauble in the shape of a Koala suddenly appear hanging on your Christmas Tree?.
That's exactly what happened to an Australian family who were out with only their daughter at home. She left their back door open slightly when she walked the dog and the koala sneaked in!. They were so shocked to see him on their tree.
They called the local koala rescue who came to collect him and he didn't want to leave. It Took ages to prise him off the tree so they reckon he will return and are watching out for him.
Sorry pic won't work so its A lovely story instead this week.?.
Thank you everyone on forum and at Lupus Uk for your help, advice and covid updates. Wishing you all a happy, healthy and safe a Christmas as possible.

Thanks ge for the link. It is a wonderful story for xmas. I do hope you and your close family have a safe, happy christmas as possible. Keep well yourself. Xx
Love that story misty 😀😀I always check our tree to make sure the are no hitchhikers !!! Hope you’re coping with run up to Christmas , im doing a crawl rather than a run 🤪🎄🎄
Bet you've not had a kaola as a hitchhiker before. I do remember when you had a bat arrive indoors when we first got chatting weathervane.
My toe email to the hospital has been sent to the surgeon and I'm hoping i hear something before xmas but I don't think i will. I'm trying a new painkiller as in a lot of pain. Enjoy Strictly, think it will be a lovely show. keep safe and well. Xx
You would be lucky to hear before new year, not sure what its like with you but hospitals are flat out here 🙁I will never forget our bat incident 😳still have palpitations thinking about it 🤣
Our covid cases are rising each day so wont be hearing anything weathervane . Goodness knows what it will be like after xmas. We need this vaccine pronto dont we?. Keep safe and as well as possible. Xx
Hi Cecily, glad you liked it. They are endangered because of the fires etc so its wonderful to learn of rescue centres. Do hope your feeling better this week and you enjoy the Strictly Final. They've got Bill and Oti as odds on fav and then HRVY surprisingly. Xx.
I loved it thank you. Have you seen Bear about the House? It made me sob and laugh and want to save them all. I am sooooo looking forward to the final tonight. I have my pizza dough proving, tomato herb and garlic sauce made, veggies chopped, strawberry and fresh cream sponge done. I desperately want Maisie to win and if not her HRVY. Whilst I think Bill has done exceptionally well he is just not a patch on those two. If Jamie wins I will sulk ☹️ It will be a wonderful spectacular show, just what we need to cheer us up. Enjoy lovely. Thank you I am breathing better but then the steroids are making me feel rough as usual but I am thankful that I am no longer gasping xxx
Hi cecily, no I haven't seen bear about the house. I'm the same want to rescue everything!. I thought you'd have a special meal tonight for the final. What a fab show and tough that janette and hrvy didn't win but he's made he's so talented. Lovely bill and Oti won, she's so talented and he's quirky and they pulled it off. It was so emotional too, loved Robbie Williams's song and I don't usually like him!.
We've just been put into tougher measures so program so welcome. They all deserve a special award for putting it on.
Steroids are lifesaving but come with such side effects. Hope they'll improve for you but glad your breathing better. It's a difficult balance. Keep safe and well. Xx
I agree they were all so great. You should look for Bear around the house , honestly it is fabulous. Man’s inhumanity is so destructive but there are such wonderful people who make a difference no matter what it costs them on a personal level. It must be so fulfilling. A life well spent. You take care too we are in a full lockdown on Boxing Day but we need to be. Better that than our NHS being continually swamped and thousands more losing loved ones. Call the Midwife special, All Creatures Great and Small special, double Eastenders, Netflix and Now will keep me going lol. Square eyes here I come 🤓xxx
I will look out for bear around the house on catch up cecily. Thank you. I totally agree that there are many humans who want to make up for man's inhumanity to man thank goodness and who want to make that difference!.i often get frustrated that being ill is stopping me from doing more!. I bet you do too. I'm looking forward to All creatures great and small too and the strictly Xmas special is a look back over the years which I think will be FAB U LOUS! We will miss it!.
I agree re lockdown, if only it had been done sooner for us it could have saved more lives.
Lovely story Misty. 🥰 Koalas are now becoming rare in parts of Australia due to their habitat being destroyed. 😣 They live in eucalyptus trees (known as gums by Aussies) and I saw many in gum trees on my way to school as a child growing up in Australia. One day I went ballistic at 2 boys, older than myself, throwing stones at a koala up a gum tree near the school and although they dismissed me as a “stupid Sheila” they did get back on their bikes and ride to school. Last time I was in that area (about 10 years ago) all the bush had been cleared to give way to roads and housing, and whenever a koala was seen in suburban areas with pockets of gum trees still growing it was a novelty and drew a crowd whereas they were so plentiful when I was a child nobody really paid much attention to them (except for nasty boys). Another sad testament to man’s influence on the natural world. 🥺 Sorry Misty, that has rather taken the shine off your lovely story. 🤭 I didn’t mean it to - just letting my thoughts run away with me.🤐 Have a lovely Christmas 🎄and New Year 🥳, but before then enjoy the Strictly final tonight. 💃🕺🏻 I think it will be between HRVY and Daisy, but we’ll have to wait and see who the public vote for. Love and hugs 😘🤗x
Hi spotty, its fascinating what memories some of my pics invoke. I'd forgotten about the wild fires destroying the koalas habitat as well. On the Longleat program that ben fogle and kate humble present , they've shown the fantastic breeding program there doing for kaolas now. Some of the Longleat keepers went out to Aus to help with the kaolas and other animal rescues. An eg of man intervening to make a difference to mitigate other man's destruction I guess.
Good for you Spotty to intervene with those lads and they did listen and went on into school!. You might have been attacked!. You certainly do everything you can for wildlife which is wonderful!.
I hope too you both have a happy, safe christmas and new year and enjoy Strictly. Marathon show tonight!. Bill and Oti are favs and then its HRVY and Janette which is a surprise. Enjoy it what ever happens. Keep safe Xx
I’m so pleased to hear there is a breeding program for koalas now. 👍🏻👍🏻 I’ve always been daft where animals are concerned and have put myself in danger a couple of times on their behalf - it just never occurs to me at the time I’m just SO angry at the cruelty and want to do something to help the creature. Maternal instinct? 🤷♀️ So it is always good to hear projects are going on to try to put right the wrongs of others.👏🏻👏🏻
Hubby laughed at me when I said I thought Daisy was in for a chance at Strictly. “Don’t you mean Maisie?” he said. Oops. Trust me! 😂 So Bill and Oti are favs? That’s a surprise. But the public is fickle so who knows? Enjoy it Misty, I know you will! 🤗😘
We saw an episode tonight of Longleat spotty that was shown in the summer and they hope to have pregnancy news from the koalas at Christmas. We're taping those too!. If successful it will be first babies in 75 years at Longleat so that will be fab. I love hearing these success stories which is why I think you'll like Countryfile.
You will love the Strictly Final, it was a brill show. Perfect for now.
I love your post about Murray. Lovely you had him and those cats too. Lovely pic of him with that huge stick, awkward to carry!.
Wasn’t it a great final in Strictly! So pleased for Bill.👏🏻👏🏻 He did SO well. Great fun. Really enjoyed it.Yes, we used to watch Countryfile and I admire the farmer Adam. If all farmed animals had a farmer like him they’d be very happy animals indeed. It saddens and upsets me to see cattle left out in fields in all weathers up to their ankles in mud, frost or snow without a shelter in sight, not even a tree. Disgusting.
Lovely to hear about the koalas at Longleat. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for your kind words about Murray too. He was a treasure as were the cats. 🥰 Enjoy the rest of the weekend Misty. 🤗😘x
