Hubby had a fancy knitted stocking which apart from being skinny also was difficult to insert presents because of the strands of different coloured wool on the inside of the stocking.
So, I decided to make him a new one. I had a fleece top with hedgehogs on the front of it, which was a bit short in the back for me, waiting to go to a charity shop and I suddenly thought I could make him a new one with those on the front of it. He absolutely adores π¦π¦π¦, so it was perfect. I sewed on some sequins before sewing the hedgehog cutout onto the stocking which Iβd cut down and shaped from a gift bag from last Christmas. Then I added some ribbon and other decorations to make it more Christmassy. I have another cream coloured ribbon with Merry Christmas printed on it in gold that I was also going to add, but I canβt find it now!π€¦ββοΈ Gave up looking and finished the stocking and this is the result. It is a little larger than my stocking, but then it is for a man! ππ
I hope you all like it and I suppose more importantly I hope hubby likes it too.π€
Hoping all your Christmas preparations are going well. But youβve plenty of time because I heard that Christmas is being shifted to 7th January because when Santa arrives he has to go into 14 days quarantine !π³π π πΌ πππͺ π

Fantastic spotty well done.im sure hubby will love ...hope you got plenty to fill it lol.pretty much done here but my priority delivery slot is xmas day and I havent been offered an alternative π€¨ so got that to sort now.take it easy xx
Thanks for the kind remarks SML. Hubby has now seen it and loves it. I have enough wee pressies to half fill it so will put soft light-weight things in the bottom like a couple of face cloths or whatever. πA delivery slot for Christmas Day doesnβt sound ideal. π₯΄ I hope you get that sorted. Have you got your pressies sorted for your furry family? I bet they love Christmas. ππ»ππ» Take care. π€πx
I pre booked a just in case slot with iceland for the 20th but then I have nothing until 8th jan .yes santa paws is sorted...they are both getting new equafleeces..I've had a zip put in millies as shes not happy at me lifting her feet (and they are in the wash most days at the minute) along with a Denzels treat box each.this is the first year I've not bought them a new ball as I should be limiting millie running with her arthritis my sons stocking isnt out this year with me not being out in the shops to see the little silly bits that i often put in.last year I wrapped a slice of bread and a box of eggs.......I'd got him a wooden dippy eggs plate π€£.. xx take care xx
Aww, brilliant pressies - theyβll love them. ππ»ππ» Youβve given me some ideas for hubbyβs stocking now if I havenβt enough to fill it. Luckily heβs not aware of whatβs in the cupboards so I can raid them to fill the stocking and he wouldnβt realise! It is difficult to buy wee bits and bobs when you arenβt out shopping isnβt it? I havenβt been shopping for a few weeks now and then I had to ask hubby to go to another shop so he couldnβt see what I was buying.π Hope you find something for your sonβs stocking this year. π€ π€ππ§¦ππ πΌ
I'm all bought so no.plus I didnt do his sisters stocking so got to be equal.i have bought him a man washer and a silly pair of undies so I suppose they could of gone in π
He loves it thanks SV .ππ»ππ» I hope all your preparations are going well. π€ I suppose Bea will be used to it but is Mira wondering what is afoot? I hope sheβs being good and not deciding to help with the wrapping of pressies! ππ Take care. π€π x
Yes all my preparations are going well Thankyou - finally wrapped all the presents π although not put any under the tree as Mira likes to shred any paper she can get her paws on πβ€οΈ
Ha ha it is my sowing that is ugly. My Nan used to say I was cack handed and I havenβt changed. She gave up trying to show me how to knit and crochet. It is a good job I can cook or I would have no redeeming features ππxxx
Oh well, we canβt be good at everything !π They say the way to a manβs heart is through his stomach π and a hostess is complimented on her culinary delights rather than well sewn buttons, or a beautifully knitted cushion cover. πππ€£ xxxx
Definately not that thenππ I struggle with temps either way, but enjoyed the relief of recent cold snap here, mild here lately comes with rain Iβd much rather the cold than wet. You must have had a good few white Xmas βs then?π
a few, the dogs have loved the snow. usually just muddy and wet and very dull. sunrise and sunset are only a few hours apart and with all the rain we need the lights on all day.
Great spotty π Iβm sure your husband will love it and santa will admire when filling it πππSantaβs quarantine will get me linger to get sorted ππ I am sooo far behind ππxx
I will get there slooooowly ππ I wrote 4 more cards today πππI took a last minute order for a felt as someone wanted to give as a present , a fox, but nearly done. I said I wasnβt going to do any this side of Xmas now but couldnβt say no π€·ββοΈπ ( got me out of cooking tonight too )π I was otherwise tied up , busy felting π
Thank you Kat.π Too many years of βmake do and mendβ has made it habit to use materials to hand and find uses for things no longer wanted.π Very satisfying and good fun. ππ»The wood burner comes into its own if we ever have a power cut and of course is great over the festive season. But it is a lot of work bringing in wood every day for it, taking out ashes and keeping the lounge dusted so we donβt use it as much as we used to since hubby had his open-heart surgery 2 years ago.βΉοΈ All our logs and sticks are home grown which is more work for hubby when he feels up to it. He dons his protective trousers, jacket and helmet and climbs up the ash trees (with the help of his ascending ropes) with his chainsaw, to cut off more branches or even reduce the height of the main trunk. They grow so quickly and their wood can be burned immediately without seasoning so they are a good supply of wood for us. Weβve lived in this house for 15 years and have only had to buy in wood the first winter we were here. But it is a lot of work although hubby refers to our burn and the trees growing either side of it as his gym! But at 68 and with heart problems I fear it is getting too much for him. If our garden was bigger the displaced roe deer from more felling going on locally could come and live here, but I donβt think much would be left growing in the garden if that was the case! ππ Hoping you and hubby are keeping okay? Keep safe. Love and hugs. π€πx
Oh yes I remember the days I had a burner..they say that making fire warms u three times..first time gathering the wood..second time chopping the wood..n then the blissful third time when the fire is lit n crackling merrily in the burner!! π₯Happy memories for me!! Can't even hold an axe now let alone swing it!! πΉ ππ½π½Xx
Hold on to the memories instead of the axe Kat. ππ My Dad used to tell me about fires heating me twice, but I think your 3 times is even closer to the mark. Iβve happy memories too of doing all that on my own when I lived on the islands - driftwood was dragged back to the house to be chopped for the fire and Murray my dog used to drag home a branch too. π When the wood burned it produced the most wonderful colours of flames from the salts dried onto it. Happy memories - but I was a LOT younger then. ππ€£ ππ€ππ πΌπ
Love your stocking! Iβm sure your husband does too as youβll have to fill it every year. Yes, itβs been a challenge to get the presents bought this year. I have used a certain online retailer so often theyβve asked me if I would like a business account!!!
ππ A business account wouldnβt be a bad idea as youβll probably get discounts. π€£π€£ Glad you like the stocking Barbara and yes, hubby loves it. It will be a challenge filling it every year but he loves pistachios, lebkuchen and toblerones so theyβll be a good start each year. π I hope you are keeping as well as can be Barbara and that the rash you had is now a distant memory. ππ» Love and hugs π€πx
Yes, Iβm much better now, thanks. Next thing is to try and cut down the steroids but Iβm not attempting that until after Christmas. Hope you are keeping well too. Youβll be living in level one now but that just makes things a bit less safe for us as more people are out and about.
Glad to hear you are much better Barbara and I hope you are able to reduce the steroids after Christmas/New Yearππ». Iβm not bad thanks and am getting back to walking 2 - 3 miles most days with hubby which gets the blood circulating. The Pregabalin has helped enormously to reduce the burning sensation of my feet and hands, so long may that last.ππ» Hoping you have a very happy Christmas and and enjoyable new year. ππ» Have fun. π πΌππ¦π€πx
Thank you so much Misty. I thought you would like it knowing how you love hedgehogs too. Are yours in hibernation yet or still coming for supper? Love and hugs. ππ€ππ¦π¦π¦
