Since lockdown started I seem to have had very little post - and now don't check my postbox every day. Imagine my surprise then, when I lifted the lid yesterday to find a small parcel - addressed by hand, sellotaped across the back - showing every sign of being a gift, or more likely (I thought) I'd ordered something on Amazon and forgotten about. I don't usually forget what I order but right now, when the days all roll into one and deliveries can take much longer than usual, it seemed possible.
Excitedly, I extracted it and tore open the envelope - only to find two specimen bottles and a fat bunch of blood forms, with a note from the rheumatologist asking me to make an appointment at the surgery for tests.
I laughed! So disappointing!

You getting healthcare, you should be very, very grateful. I would jump at the chance to have a phone consultation with a GP, rheumatologist (and actually be on a rheumatology list!), neurologist, occupational therapy, therapist and others.
Oh bless you, what a disappointment. At least your Rheumatologist is considerate and caring , a rarity indeed and a gift in itself. I do hope you get a nice surprise soon xx
I thought they’d be phoning people for a chat at least.
According to a friend who works in NHS GPs are flying through their patient lists like never before!
No time wasters. And with calls, they are getting through it very efficiently. Calling all back that day. If only the doctors were like that all of the time.
