Frustration of having to wait for surgery ☹️

Well I was feeling pretty good, I got all my card making equipment sorted and tidied. Sorted all my wool. Until Saturday 11/04 (Easter w/e) Then that was it... Another urine infection, awful pain in kidneys 😖 smelly urine like you'd never believe 🙄 hot and cold spells. Feeling like crap.

Well this is what I am frustratingly to put up with now as Operation that would've fixed this is postponed due to Covid.

I am drinking so much Cranberry juice 🥤 My skin is going to turn purple soon, 🙄

I tried phoning GP but got redirected to an app to book a call back. Just hope a doctor phones soon. 🤞

Any advice please 🙏

I suffer from re-occuring UTIs and am under the care of infections diseases/immunology and urology for it. I'm on prophylactic antibiotics and have rescue packs at home. I'm currently on week three of anti-biotics for an infection right now.

My urologist said that there is no point in drinking cranberry juice as you'd have to drink about 8 litres of the stuff and it contains sugar. But he did suggest taking cranberry capsules instead to acidify the urine. I challenged him on this because NICE guidelines say that cranberry isn't effective but I have to say that it has helped me and if I miss a dose or two I am prone to the infection firing up again.

I hope you get some treatment soon.

But if you are waiting for surgery, I am guessing that you have some sort of plumbing problem? I might be that until you have your surgery then things won't settle?

Hi happy tulip, thanks for getting back to me 😀 I challenge your urologist on drinking Cranberry juice. My urologist says to drink it. I find that if I stop drinking it Hey up I get an infection. I do drink a lot of it though, but that's mainly because I like it.

I am waiting for an operation 'rectocele repair.' It was last cancelled 02/04

Hi Bronn, my sympathies for you, UTIs do make you feel so awful. Have you ever come across or tried “d-mannose” capsules before? They work brilliantly for me. Maybe check with you doc before trying them to make sure they are suitable for you - you can get them from Amazon, Holland and Barrett etc. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon xx

Thank you, I will look into d-mannose. I've spoken to the gp earlier and antibiotics on their way 😀

Stay safe and keep well 💐

I feel your frustration. I have been on the waiting list to have gallbladder removed since october, i was told the wait was 12 weeks. Not heard anything, and now with coronavirus can’t see it being anytime this year. I sometimes suffer from urine infections and i swear by barley water, i understand some on here can’t have this, but if you can give it a go.

You could cut your sugar/sweetener intake.

Bacteria seem to like conditions when there is a high sugar intake.

Maybe decrease carbs as these break down in sugars in the body.

Just a thought.

Btw I was watching a clip of Green Wing today. One where they were in the operating theatre.

I hope whenever you get your operation you don't get doctors like the Green Wing cast.

If you never saw it you must seek it out. So funny.
