Hi please can someone give me some advice.

I've got a new job which I am supposed to start next Monday. I left my previous job on Friday and was told had I had still been employed I would have been sent home for 12 weeks paid.

I am so stressed now as where do I stand with my new employer? I can't afford to be unpaid for 12 weeks and I don't think they have any obligation towards me with regards to staying at home for 12 weeks. I am panicking and really y scared to call them to tell them. I have sle and I'm on hydroxychlorinque. Methotrexate and folicacid. Please help as I am stressing so much I will probably end up with a flare. Help plse...

Probably best to start by speaking with the new employer. Could you work from home for them? Best wishes Kevin

Hi Kevin

I've just spoke them and they were very reassuring and said if I get the letter they will work something out and I will probably work from home. Weight off my mind

Thanks for replying

Be prepared that you may not get the letter, just in case...

A friend of mine is on biologicals, MTX and has a multitude of other problems. She saw the GP today about other issues and he gave her a letter at her request saying that she had to extreme self-distance and that if she was unable to do that at work then she must be allowed to work from home.

Use your GP as a back up if you need to. They want to avoid as many cases of CV-19 as possible and should be supportive.

Best of luck x
