Still anxious but not as much...
If there is no virus reported in our area, is it safe to go out, or at least have a ride in the car?... jx

Going for a walk in the car is ideal! It is people sneezing and coughing over you that is the main problem, though someone with no symptoms can also breath it over you. But if you are alone in the car or with companions you wouldn't avoid anyway, then it is no different from being at home. Keeping your distance from other people means you are out of reach of the virus they may be shedding so walking in a quiet area is perfectly safe.
But it isn't stopping me doing my shopping - also in a region with no reported cases within 50 miles, even if it is in Italy. I semi-hibernate in winter anyway - because of flu.
Going for a walk in the car?
You must have a big car😀
It's what I called it because that is what OH used to do - going for a walk in the mountains HE said ...
But I use the car to go somewhere nice or quiet and then walk - rather than wasting what energy I have getting somewhere nice and having to give up
You might find this interesting.
Dr Cheng normally practices in the US but went to China when the outbreak took hold.
He has been active in running trials using vitamin C.
Shhhh! Everyone will be putting vitamin C in the shopping trolleys with their toilet rolls. Seriously tho, I think that was very interesting.
Its always something that crosses the mind. Whether to share information or not.
But for us in at risk groups its better if there are fewer people to infect us. So maybe its a win win.
The media are doing their best to say it is ineffective and that will prevent many bothering to try it.
smokers use up vitamin c in the body much quicker than non smokers. So its probably a really good reason to quit.
High sugar usage also cancels it out so watch your intake of sweetened goodies.
Sugar is also inflammatory in its own right so will not help if an infection gets to your lungs.
Hopefully all the forum members will stay safe.
I was interested to see chloroquine was one of the anti virals they are testing that suggest that for once Lupus sufferers may be ahead of the game and already protected.
Hi Butterfly,
Did you see Paul’s post (yesterday I think it was) about Lupus and Coronavirus? It is very reassuring and gives good advice. Check it out.
Hubby and I are walking locally in the woods and fields, but keeping away from crowded places as much as possible. We are still doing our own shopping until we hear of any cases in our area and then we’ll have our groceries delivered.
Keep enjoying life! 🤗😘
Hi Spotty _ewe,
I can't seem to find Paul's post 🤔...
What did it say?..jx
Hi Butterfly,
Paul’s post was called “Lupus and Coronavirus (COVID-19) and was posted 2 days ago. He put on a link that has info for Lupies. Hope you can find it now. Take care. 🤗
well I'm carrying on as normal. I work on a checkout, imagine the amount of people that come through my till on a busy Sat. I'm there for 10hrs. These last few days "people" ? have gone stupid. Our Asda has put a limit on the hand wash to 2 per customer, shame they didn't do the same for the toilet rolls. Sounds like every body thinks they're going to get it and buys 48 packs. Then along comes a 90 year old pensioner survived rationing during the war and can't get a pack of 4.
A doctor has said that you should use sanitizer every 20 SECONDS! It's not possible in certain situations. My hands would be red raw for a start. I've even thought about wearing gloves, but you would have to change per customer.
