Visible pulse in neck

Hi all,

This is a bit of a random one and probably has nothing to do with my lupus, but thought I’d check!

I have noticed recently that every now and again I can really feel my pulse, especially in my neck! When I look on the mirror you can visibly see it pulsing out of the left side! This isn’t even after exercise! Some times, like now, I’m just sat on the space and I can feel it going!

Is this linked to the lupus in anyway? And should I bring this up with my specialist when I next have an appointment?

Thanks

Becky

Becky, it certainly wouldn’t hurt to mention it to your doctor just in case.

Hope all goes well!

I feel the same thing in my neck. Did you ever tell your doctor?

Yes, they sent me for an ECG but as that came up clear, they wouldn’t do any more about it! It still happens now and quite a lot, but they won’t investigate it 😕

Which doctor did you go to?

Just to my GP and he was the one who sent me for an ECG. I told my lupus specialist who said it was nothing. So at least the GP tested me and took it more seriously than the professor.

I’m thinking of going to get it checked out since it’s been 10 days I’ve been feeling like this but I don’t have insurance 😭

I’ve had it for over a year now 😫

Oh wow how do you deal with it? I’m hypochondriac so it’s making it worst 😭

Aww bless you! Sending lots of hugs!!🤗

Yeah, I know what you mean and it’s definitely the more you think about it the more you notice it! After my ECG came back clear I kind of calmed down about it as I knew it was nothing serious so I tend not to notice it so much now! I always notice when I’m looking in a mirror putting make up on or something though. Especially if I’ve just run up the stairs. If it makes you feel any better, my doctors didn’t seem bothered by it at all and said that some peoples just shows more than others!

If you’re worried maybe get it checked out! But I’ve kind of got used to mine now! Xx

Omg I notice them in the mirror as well especially when I wake up! But thanks for the reassurance 😭 my health this year hasn’t been well so I panic whenever I feel something new in my body.
