Influenza A

Influenza A. This has become a problem all year round and is worse in Winter. I had the privilege of working with a Director of The World Health Organisation who is a global expert on the influenza group, in particular influenza A.

I learnt the following

1) it is essential to have influenza A injections particularly if immune suppressed.

2) injections are only 50% successful as the influenza A virus can mutate in a nanosecond.

3) main signs & symptoms - you will remember exactly the time you showed signs of influenza A. You are contagious about 2 days prior to getting your signs & symptoms.

Your temperature will be extremely high & you may get hot & cold shivers

Your body will be extremely weak & you will ache everywhere. You may have a cough, sore throat & runny nose.

It is essential that you have strict bed rest & drink plenty of water.

Influenza A attacks the muscles of the body and is the one that can kill you. The main muscles being your Heart & Diaphragm. If you do not have strict rest & plenty of fluids you usually get a bacterial pneumonia in your chest.

There have been twice as many people in Australia dying of influenza A than last year. Apparently it is just a matter of time before we have another world pandemic. The one of 1918 killed more people than all of the deaths of the world wars added together. When you are contagious the virus can live on everything you touch for 2-3 days. The only viral treatments available are Rulenxa (a puffer) & Tamiflu a capsule. If you take Tamiflu you may feel completely better in 1-2 days but need to have total bed rest still for 7-10 days otherwise the flu will rebound worse than ever.

I hope that this helps people understand influenza A better and please feel free to pass this on to other sites on Health Unlocked.

Stay warm & healthy,

Melbourne Girl ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Or as we sometimes get told what is good for us actually research and in my immune condition these fly jabs causes pain and a flare as it triggers me. Alot of times these flu jabs are ineffective to core groups as the strain in them do not match the local strains of A . With my super immunity my gp and rheum says Nope give it a miss unless you are in a hospital.

Hi Grozet,

As mentioned they are about 50% effective. We all should be having them but it does not mean that you will be in the group that was effectively vaccinated to the particular strain of influenza A at that time.

It is good that you have a high immune system and you have to abide by what your GP & Rheumatoligist says.

Millions of healthy people around the world with a high immune system can get influenza A & it can happen at any age.

I have never heard of a patient with influenza A that is hospitalised survive the disease.

All the best during the Winter months,

Melbourne Girl
