I’ve had a really strange day. I started by taking Lupus Awareness items and posters to the village hall for their coffee morning where I had permission to put the items on display. I had my sponsor form with me, which my husband made for me, and managed to secure more pledges now amounting to £35 and had another £12.50 in donations. 👍🏻 So I was really pleased about that and with the interest some people had in learning more about the disease.😁
I then flew off to my GP appointment and left the official Lupus Awareness month (October) poster with the practice manager who immediately put it up on the reception notice board. So that was good too. 👏🏻 However when I asked my GP if I could try the Zentiva Hydroxychloroquine to see if it would suit me better as it is film coated and hopefully would prevent the gastric problems I have from the Bristol brand, she tried on her computer and told me it isn’t on her list of prescriptive drugs! 😲 She’s going to speak to the person in charge of the drugs they can prescribe to see if she can get it for me!? Isn’t that ridiculous she’s got to do that? 🥴
Back home I was sorry to discover my T-shirt for the “Go that extra mile” walk I’m doing on Thursday with my friend hadn’t arrived in the post! 🥺 I felt so disappointed and upset, but have improvised by making my own version - wrong colour - but which hopefully will get the message across. 🤞
Now I’m feeling anxious about the walk as the weather isn’t too promising and I hope the 10 miles don’t prove too much for me so I let my sponsors and supporters down. 😞
Hoping you’ll all send me some positive thoughts and pray for dry but not sunny weather for on Thursday. 🙏🏻 Many thanks friends. 😘

Anyway, super cute T-Shirt! I bet the one you bought isn’t as cute. Otherwise you still have one more day it could come in the mail. Best of luck, and great job on all your endeavors to help awareness! You go girl!
Thanks for your reply (despite the app playing up! 😖) and for your support.
Mail doesn’t arrive in our part of the village until around 1pm so we’ll be gone by then. I didn’t have to buy the T-shirt because if you pledge to raise a minimum of £20 on the ‘Go That Extra Mile’ fund raiser, they send you a T-shirt free of charge. But the make-shift will have to do.😉 Glad you like it!😁
Thanks for your good wishes and encouragement. 👍🏻It means a lot. 🥰 Spotty
You go Spotty!!! When the saints go marching on, I want to be in that number, when the saints go marching on!" You got this, you are a strong force of courage, will, accomplishment, and inspiration of embracing the condition, and Conquering it. The lupus community is that much better because you stood up, and took that stand. And, I love your t-shirt too. You could make them? Thats a talent.. As for medication, if that's the way the system works, then do not fret over it, let your GP take those steps for you, that's part of there job. I'm sure she will try her best for you. I promise to pray for you, and to mother nature, for a better weather day for Thursday, although you know she has a mind of her own. Just do what you can, pace that great day out, knowing in your heart you did it!!!! Sending all my peace, blessings prayers, and kind regards.xxx thestorm😊😊😊
Thank you so much Storm for your support and encouragement. So glad you like the T-shirt too. Thanks too for the prayers. The forecast seems to think it will be good 🌥until around 4 pm 🌧so we should have pretty well finished the walk by then. 🤞
Your good wishes, prayers and kind words have set me up for the walk! 💪Thanks Storm. 🥰 Spotty
Hello. First of all good luck with the walk. We’ll all be thinking about you and I’m sure you can do it.
Zentiva is definitely on the Scottish nhs list as I’ve been on it for the last four years however one of the staff in our pharmacy told me to allow an extra day for the prescription as it is a ‘hospital ‘ drug and they had to order it. You could mention that to your pharmacy,
And you’re doing a wonderful job spreading the word about lupus awareness.
Thanks for your kind wishes and support. It means so much.
Yes, I’ll mention what you said about Zentiva to my GP and hope this region will prescribe it. I’ll speak to the pharmacist too. Thanks for that.
My rash is fading fast now thanks to the steroids and I hope yours is continuing to fade too.🤞 Feeling a bit flushed and shaky this morning but is maybe due to the anticipation of tomorrow.🥴
Must dash now to set off on our journey to Keswick.
We are here in Keswick now and had a short walk to Castlehead and back just to get in the mood! 😉
Thanks for the encouragement and good wishes and kind words about my hubbies old T-shirt I adapted for the job. 👍🏻 Thanks too for the reminder about waterproofs, sunscreen etc. - all ready packed in the backpack except for the 🧢 which I forgot! However forecast is for it to be overcast, so hopefully I’ll manage.
Thanks again for the good wishes Krazykat. I’ll let you all know how it goes tomorrow. 🥰 Spotty.
