Iβm so pleased to report we managed to walk right around Derwentwater today (10 miles) and are still standing! π€ͺ Many thanks to all of you who prayed for dry but not sunny weather - it was perfect as you can see. We had a few drops of rain right at the end but it only got heavy a few metres from our B&B. So very, very lucky.ππ»
A lot of people we passed looked at my T-shirt and our Lupus UK badges, but nobody commented or asked anything about them. π€¨ Never mind, hopefully it has done its job anyway in raising awareness of Lupus. As soon as I gather in all the pledges for the walk Iβll let you know what Iβve managed to raise for our cause.
I must have FELT you willing me on because I didnβt expect to have the energy to get me right round the lake but something definitely kept me going! πͺ We only had 2 breaks at a cafe and a hotel for lunch because the weather was cool so kept us going. It took us 5 hours 48 mins to get round including the 2 breaks - so Iβm really chuffed with that. But I couldnβt have done it without the support of you and others Krazykat. π₯°Thanks SO much!ππ€
We enjoyed tea and Cumbrian dreamcake at the end of the walkπ and plan a long lie tomorrow π΄before taking a leisurely drive home.
SWEET, beautiful pictures, and congratulations on a monumental moment, You did it!!! Now, in the future you can reflect on this day that is a time capsule of accomplishment and say, If I climbed this mountain, I can conquer the paths ahead. Your life is now fuller, and your sharing journey is encouragement for us all! π Thank you for doing that. Glad the weather prayers helped, and I pray tomorrow will be kind to you, and your body. One step at a time, great job!!! Sending my prayers, blessings and peaceful rest. thestorm
I feel honoured to share my journey with such wonderful supportive fellow Lupies. Your encouragement and prayers definitely helped and knowing you were all waiting to see how I got on gave me strength and the will to keep going yesterday. And the weather prayers worked wonders - couldnβt have asked for better weather for somebody with Lupus. π So Iβm so grateful for that. It is drizzling this morning so we were so lucky with our chosen day.
Thanks for your good wishes Storm, and Iβll definitely enjoy my rest. π΄
Congratulations! So pleased for you. I was thinking about you all day yesterday and Iβm delighted that everything went well. Tee shirt looks great and it will have raised awareness. Hope you feel ok today.
Thanks Barbara and for your positive encouraging thoughts yesterday. They definitely helped! My husband e-mailed last night to say a parcel had arrived from Lupus UK which he presumes is the T-shirt! π Never mind, as you say I hope mine will have raised awareness anyway.
Feeling pleasantly tired this morning but so far no pain. Hoping it stays that way.π€ Look after yourself Barbara. π₯°
Iβm so pleased to have done it as I really wasnβt convinced I could at the tail end of a flare. π₯΄ But with the support, prayers and positive vibes of you and other lovely people in this community I managed it. You were all there with me so we all did it together!πͺπ
I enjoyed the long-lie which would have been even longer if we werenβt in B&B, and Iβm having a lazy day today. Bliss.π
Aw Kat, that is fabulous! ππ»What a lovely record of our special walk! Thank you so so much for that! I absolutely love it. πYouβve covered every aspect of the event and what it involved. π₯΄βοΈπΆββοΈπ°π
You are SO clever and gifted. Iβll have it printed up and put up on my wall to cheer me on bad days. Many many thanks again Kat.ππ€
