Derwentwater achieved!

I’m so pleased to report we managed to walk right around Derwentwater today (10 miles) and are still standing! 🤪 Many thanks to all of you who prayed for dry but not sunny weather - it was perfect as you can see. We had a few drops of rain right at the end but it only got heavy a few metres from our B&B. So very, very lucky.👍🏻

A lot of people we passed looked at my T-shirt and our Lupus UK badges, but nobody commented or asked anything about them. 🤨 Never mind, hopefully it has done its job anyway in raising awareness of Lupus. As soon as I gather in all the pledges for the walk I’ll let you know what I’ve managed to raise for our cause.

Thanks again to all of you for your encouragement and support for me doing this walk. 😘 It has been a great day and I hope I won’t be suffering too much tomorrow.😩

Hi Krazykat,

I must have FELT you willing me on because I didn’t expect to have the energy to get me right round the lake but something definitely kept me going! 💪 We only had 2 breaks at a cafe and a hotel for lunch because the weather was cool so kept us going. It took us 5 hours 48 mins to get round including the 2 breaks - so I’m really chuffed with that. But I couldn’t have done it without the support of you and others Krazykat. 🥰Thanks SO much!😘🤗

We enjoyed tea and Cumbrian dreamcake at the end of the walk😁 and plan a long lie tomorrow 😴before taking a leisurely drive home.

I feel honoured to share my journey with such wonderful supportive fellow Lupies. Your encouragement and prayers definitely helped and knowing you were all waiting to see how I got on gave me strength and the will to keep going yesterday. And the weather prayers worked wonders - couldn’t have asked for better weather for somebody with Lupus. 😃 So I’m so grateful for that. It is drizzling this morning so we were so lucky with our chosen day.

Thanks for your good wishes Storm, and I’ll definitely enjoy my rest. 😴

Thanks Barbara and for your positive encouraging thoughts yesterday. They definitely helped! My husband e-mailed last night to say a parcel had arrived from Lupus UK which he presumes is the T-shirt! 😂 Never mind, as you say I hope mine will have raised awareness anyway.

Feeling pleasantly tired this morning but so far no pain. Hoping it stays that way.🤞 Look after yourself Barbara. 🥰

Hi Panda,

I’m so pleased to have done it as I really wasn’t convinced I could at the tail end of a flare. 🥴 But with the support, prayers and positive vibes of you and other lovely people in this community I managed it. You were all there with me so we all did it together!💪😁

I enjoyed the long-lie which would have been even longer if we weren’t in B&B, and I’m having a lazy day today. Bliss.😌

Spotty n Jessie awoke at dawn,

On a chilly Thursday October morn,

Today was the day they were going to take

A walk of 10 miles round a beautiful lake.

Coated in her SPF

Spotty took a very deep breath,

Then off she went on her epic walk

With lupie friends giving pep talk.

The weather was kind and the sun wasn't out,

Sunsensitive lupies know what that's all about!!

5hrs 48 their journey did take

Ending with some CUMBRIAN DREAMCAKE 🍰

Now rest up Spotty, u know the drill,

Take time to rest so u don't get ill,

Spend some time at home in your bed,

With wonderful memories going on in your head!! 🌄⛰️🏞️
